The 1978 Fighting Machine seen on the album: Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.
About this creation
Inspired by an 1978 albumcover: Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. This is the Fighting Machine. I had not much to go on, but I think I've got shape and proportions pretty good. Unfortunately, I don't have the right white bricks to make it even closer to the original. Who will do better??
Sight at 1 o' clock.
4 o' clock.
5 o' clock.
7 o' clock.
One of the tripodlegs and its connection to the body of the Fighting Machine.
The foot of a Fighting Machine.
Cheeting with the "eye of the Martians". it is taken from the 1953 movie The War of the Worlds.
To Jonathan & the others: the two round green things some of you think are the eyes, actually ARE the aliens. They don't have eyes, limbs or anything else. They control their Fightingmachines with their minds and feed on humanblood...
I have some bad news, the green things are a type of window (the book declared they were "Brown" and I think it's something 1978 thing would miss.) If you have the actual disc, you should have a booklet in it, and after the story has finished, there is some brilliant sketches of what the fighting machine looked like. Just a hint, and the rest is pretty good.
Reminds me of a dream I had in 2005. any ways this is spectacular. I have heard that music, scared me.
I like it

Ok this is an amazing build the legs are great some with well everything. However, who would belive that in the new one Tom Cruise would kill a crazy guy, his son would run over hill it gets blown up you see tanks flying (yes fling like birds), and that his whloe family lives through the whole desastrious thing (even his son the one who should have got blown up)? Someone answer me that and you win...nothing LOL!!! Also how do the aleins wait for years planning and then a little gene in the atmosphere kills them...I mean I though they were an ADVANCED ALEIN RACE. As you may have guested I didn't exacliy like the moi
You commented on mine, so I'll comment on your's. First things first, wow... This is a great model of this representation. If I could build this, I wouldn't care about the color. I should try this with Blacktron II cockpits.
P.S. I just noticed the "ulla" thing. Good detail. Gosh, I'm getting sloppy reading pages...
err... i think you made an error in the positions of the shots. You said the 1 'o clock position was behind it, when in reality that would be a little to the right side. and you said that the 5 'o clock position was almost directly in front. Anyways, great MOC, although i haven't really heard that album. But it looks just like the one on the cover (excluding the color). Great work!
Hey thanks for the review. This MOC and that album both rock my WORLD! Nothing like the original vinyl. Usually I'm not a fan of replica MOCs (please, someone stop this Halo madness!), but I give this a well deserved 5 smilies.
