Mass Effect Kodiak Shuttle
Can't believe I worked so hard on this flying white box...
About this creation

The UT-47 Kodiak drop shuttle replaced the M35 Mako in Mass Effect 2 and 3 as the vehicle responsible for taking your sqad from the Normandy down to a planet's surface. I'll always prefer the bouncy ol' Mako, no matter what anyone says, but darn if I didn't put a lot of work into this LEGO Kodiak shuttle anyway!

The Kodiak has a simple (almost too simple) exterior design, but I worked hard to create the exact shape, at roughly the right size, with the right black & white patterns on it using nothing but LEGO bricks. Yes, the lettering and Cerberus symbols were added with decals, but the black stripes are just black bricks. I didn't cheat as much as I did on the Mako.

The rear of the craft. The engine "legs" can each be positioned independently.

Head-on shot.

Side view. The doors are attached with older style LEGO hinges because they're smaller and don't stick out on the hull as badly. I wish LEGO still manufactured them, honestly. Yes, I'm old.

"Welcome to Cerberus, Shepard."

A lot of players complained about Shepard's forced recruitment into Cerberus in Mass Effect 2, but honestly, I found it an interesting change of pace, forcing us to see things from a different point of view. Too bad they later made Shepard and the Illusive Man suddenly turn on each other between games with no option for the player to do otherwise. I still think renegade players should have been able to side with Cerberus throughout ME3...

The Kodiak beside the Mako. My Kodiak is slightly bigger, but the Mako is taller. It's possible to sqeeze three minifigs into the Mako, but the Kodiak seats six relatively comfortably. Unfortunately the interior is pretty bare, and there's no driver's seat (the nose is pretty much solid) so I didn't take any interior shots.

Shepard's Mako verus a Cerberus landing shuttle! I was so excited when a Mako showed up at the end of ME3. Still disappointed you didn't get to drive it one more time...

The Kodiak shuttle with my new Jacob, Jack, and Kasumi minifigs. Yes, I've finally completed the full set of Mass Effect 2 companions! You know, my biggest disappointment with Mass Effect 3 is still nothing to do with the infamous ending; it's how badly the ME2 companions got pushed to the sidelines in favor of the ME1 cast. I actually liked the ME2 crew better, overall. Boo.

I also made Aria T'Loak and, to complete my ME3 cast (not counting DLC characters), I even threw in that meathead who wasted one of our precious companion slots. What's his name? Yet another J-name, wasn't it? John? Joe? ... Oh, right, James Vega. Sorry, I can never seem to remember him.

A better look at Jack. I avoided making her the first time around because I knew the tattoos would be a ton of work, but I finally buckled down and did it, because blast it, she's actually one of the coolest characters in the game.

Kasumi, Aria, and Femshep fighting my new Cerberus soldiers: the Phantom, Guardian, and Nemesis.

The ME2 DLC companions: Kasumi Goto and Zaeed Massani (complete with Jesse). R.I.P. Robin Sachs.

The new Cerberus lineup in front of their shuttle. For more shots of these guys, see my Attack on Firebase White diorama!

Beautiful ships. Very sleek and perfectly designed. Even better are the figures! Very very cool decals. The detail and colour is crazy. They look just like Lego with a killer attitude.

Quoting matt rowntRee These are spot on perfect! The Kodiak is astonishingly simple, yet so difficult to recreate in Lego and you did it justice. Your character designs are brilliant. Love Jack! Are the weapons your own making or did you get them from someplace like Brickarms? I don't remember seeing them there. Absolutely fantastic stuff here! I miss the Mako. :(
Thanks for the compliments! :) The weapons are BrickWarriors - I sell them on my website! ;)

A great looking ship. I especially like the angles at the back end and how how neatly the various elements go together. I'm old and totally agree with you about the old-style hinges :)

I really missed the Mako. And I with we had at least gotten an upgraded Hammerhead with a useful set of armor xD I would like to have had more time operating vehicles, no matter which.
