LIU Orbital Prison
An orbiting prison that is impossible to escape.
About this creation
LIU Prison - Maximum Security

The Ludgonian Industrial Union has one of the lowest crime rates in the universe. Maybe, its because they have the worst prisons. Now, after years of development, the LIU presents a mobile prison that mimics one of the worst prisons in the LIU.

This orbital station is impossible to escape, and it is recommended for your worst criminal scum.

The Orbital Prison is designed to stay in orbit, but it can function on the ground. Face it, its harder to escape a prison in the cold vacuum of space. Unit #10 is shown on the ground in this pic. It has yet to be placed into orbit.(Plus, its easier to film on the ground

A view of the other side of the prison. Note the airlock on the bottom left, and some of the mechanical aspects of the prison visible on the side.

The top of the prison is loaded with sensors that range from communication devices to proximity radars that detect approaching ships. In the LIU, it is a felony to pass within ten miles of an orbiting prison.

The prison has two small thrusters to help make adjustments to keep it in orbit. Here is a close up of one of them.

The airlock will only open if the docking ship, usually a prison transporter, uploads the password.

Its opening.

Like all the LIU's creations, the Orbital Prison is a bit boxy, but it makes for a better interior. Note the bowing seen here. This creation weighs so much and contains so many plates(for the floors)that it bows badly. Oh well, if the hull become compromised, your criminals will die.

The Interior

When criminals first enter the prison they are logged. Two guards, protected behind tempered glass, examine the inmates' crimes and decide the best cell to keep them.

The guards also have digital cameras that photograph each inmate. This is for identification purposes.

This is the view the inmates have.

After being logged into the computer, the inmates strip down to their underwear and hit the scalding hot showers. The prison is flea-free. The green/red lights indicate if the prisoner is clean or not.

This guard watches the prisoner shower. He is armed with a brush and he will scrub your skin off if you don't clean up on your own. You can just see the second shower behind the guard.

After the clean up, the door is opened and the prisoner passes through a second airlock. Having another airlock prevents the filth from incoming prisoners from contaminating the rest of the prison.

Two guards wait on the other side of the airlock. The one in blue is the muscle. He's there to make sure the guard in black can do his job. Most inmates don't like the man in black. Note the metal detector on the other side of the airlock. No smuggling allowed.

The man in black carries the Penetrator 9000. The P9000 searches all cavities for smuggled goods, and I mean all cavities. The LIU spared you from seeing it in action.

The last step before the inmate is sent to his cell is the welcome video. The video highlights some of the punishable offenses as well as the punishments. Sleep or even yawn during the video, and the guard in blue cracks your head open with his steel rod.

A shot of the whole room. Note the elevator in the bottom right corner. It leads to the cells.

The second floor is home to thirteen standard cells. These 4X4 cells are uncomfortable, but prison is not about comfort. Each cell has a glass front, so the inmate is visible to the patrolling guard.

The guard paces the floor making sure the inmates follow the three cardinal rules: no having fun, no nose picking, and no talking.

Two of the inmates are shown here. The one in black is in for murder and the one in brown is in for using Shell gasoline in the famed LIU Supertanker.

You better be sitting still when the guard does his walkthrough.

Back to the elevator to head up to the third floor.

The third floor is accessed controlled. When you get off the elevator the guards in the control room must buzz you in.

The prison's control room. Here, guards watch surveillance monitors, monitor prison capacity, and dispatch the blue uniformed beaters. The man in gray is the prison's warden. Spare batons are stored in here(upper left).

The third floor holds the prison's most dangerous inmates. In the center, visible from all angles, is a 4X4 cell holding a known terrorist.

Here are two 2X4 cells holding two traitors that killed a LIU governor. Their small cells limit their movement. A second layer of tempered glass gives double protection.

Here you can see part of the inmate behind two layers of glass. You can also see a computer that monitors both cells.

An overview of the area. Note the computers on the bottom right, more on them next.

These computers monitor the Orbital Prison's worst inmate. He is kept in a solitary confinment pod. There is no escape from here. The 19 on the timer is how many more years he has before he can be moved into the general population cells. The pod is magnetically sealed and can only be opened from the control room.

The pod is being opened. First it slides out.

Now it is all the way out. The control room puts the guard on notice and enters the code to release the pod.

The pod swings open on a hinge revealing the worst criminal in this part of the galaxy. He is guilty of using Megablocks®, cutting and drawing on his legos, and tax evasion!

Here is the employee photo of the guard that watches the third floor. He is decked out in armor (even his face) and carries a sick stick. It is heavy and solid for beating, but also delivers a sickening electrical shock.

Note: The LIU is not liable if any of your inmates escape, although we will help you hunt them down and execute them. Most inmates, if they survive their sentence, will suffer from massive muscle loss; they couldn't commit another crime again if they tried. The Penetrator 9000 is illegal in seven galaxies, if you live in these areas, we recommend the Penetrator 7000.

Ahem, about those prisoners we transfered last week... well, they've been complaining that they have been abused by the gaurds. If this is true, please, by all means, carry on! Heck, their gonna serve a life sentance, so who cares if they get beaten a little? But we do have to draw a line a pushing them out of the many airlocks... kill them painfully, not quickly!

This is great stuff. I love the sterile whiteness of it all, and the intricately detailed interior makes it one of the best buildings I've seen in a while.
