M.O. Round 2: A Sargent vs. David - The P1-22-A Automatic
A cookie to whoever guesses what the P1-22-A means. :)
About this creation
David. vs A Sargent
Inventable: Build a futuristic gadget that would make life easier, in 1:1 scale (lifesize).

My esteemed opponent, David, and his stellar entry!

The 2013 MocOlympics!

And yes, I know I'm doomed. :P

I look good. Just kidding, not really. :P

I was NOT copying David with the sunglasses, it was just sunny where I took pics. :)

----

You may be wondering: What in the world does a gun have to do with the category? It doesn't make life easier, and it isn't futuristic! Well, ha! It is a gun, but it can also do something else. :D

When you pull the trigger....

It becomes a pizza cutter, and the blade spins! An electric pizza cutter!

The blade does spin, guys. You'll notice that it look a bit blurry in the pic. That's because it is spinning. :) I couldn't use my newly formed Flickr account to post the video of it, because Flickr was failing. :(

Annnnndddd, some detail pics.

Handle.

Extra portion. What doe this have to do with anything? It doesn't really. All it does is make this a lot more fragile and add a bit more dark gray to the overall colorscheme; rather than just the handle.

Anyway, I hope you like it!

Good luck, David! Thanks for the look! God bless!
~A. Sargent

Nice job. I built a 1:1 pistol once, it was a terrible failure. This is great though.

That should be in every kitchen, holstered of course, wouldn't want that thing going off accidentally. XD Clever idea and it looked like you had fun building it in spite of your serious demeanor in front of the camera. ;) I think I would have loved to see this tearing through an actual pizza. Maybe not. Excellent!

Unlucky on not advancing but tidy build nonetheless. And well done to anyone brave enough to step in front of the camera and how themselves off!

Andrew, to be honest, I don't think that any of the two entries for this category are extremely original, although adding a pizza cutter is a funny idea. David gets my vote, since his design is a bit more elegant, but I hope to see you next year here nevertheless.

Awesome entry, Man! Not sure how it's futuristic, but maybe there's something else to it... Maybe try smoothing the next gun out a bit or something. Great build! :D

I must say, I think your invention is far more useful. Brilliant idea, I've always wanted a pizza cutter gun. Good job getting some functionality in, but I think aesthetics might have taken a hit for it. Ultimately, your opponent's better use of colour and complexity wins my vote. Don't take it too hard though, go eat a pizza to cheer yourself up. ;)

It is what the world's been waiting for, a revolver with pizza cutting attachment? I'd have loved a shot if it ripping that ham and pineapple to pieces. Seriously funny, but truly useful,!maybe less so? The build is functional and a touch chunky, which is ok as a design choice, unfortunately your opponent's portal gun exudes a bit more build skill and detail and he gets my vote for that reason. Still thanks for giving me a good chuckle this morning.

While the shaping's a bit blocky, I definitely love the smoothed-out feel you got with those cheese slopes, and the dark blue highlights look killer. Nice custom decal, too. Great functionality--hope Flickr works for you soon! Good luck!
