Thorond, Revin, and their new friend Nodar approached a room with two exits in front of them. One archway had the remnants of a door, and the air coming from that hall was fresh. The other led downward into darkness.

Thorond stepped forward and looked into the left archway. Nodar leaned over and looked into the right. "The Onrr lato were here." Thorond said to himself, "They took the left hand path. But...."

Thorond walked over to the right door. A gust of air whipped around Thorond. It filled the whole room giving refreshment to them. Thorond mumbled to himself, "Then why....."

Thorond turned to Revin and Nodar with a grim face but had a twinkle in his eys, "Hmmm....which one?"

They all smiled at this, even Thorond. But suddenly, they heard a screech and Revin and Nodar whirled around their smiles wiped off their faces. Orcs!

"Revin," Thorond whispered, lead the way. "Nodar, follow him!" Revin jumped through the doorway followed by Nodar. Thorond backed into the doorway slowly.

An orc jumped out of the gloom only to find an axe-wielding-maniac smashing into him. Thorond sent the orc flying and dived into darkness.

It was pitch-black in that room, and the screeches of orcs were nearing. Thorond felt along the wall in the darkness.

Thorond dived through the gap in the mountain side. Revin was keeping Nodar from falling. Obviously the dash was affecting his wound. He groaned and grabbed Revin's shoulder, supporting himself.

They were startled when Thorond appeared in front of them, but he said hastily, "We must hurry! The orcs are near. And I feel the Onrr lato are close."

As if in obedience, there was a rustle, and men jumped out of nowhere. Thorond recognized them at once, Onrr lato! It was a trap! The Onrr lato surrounded them as orcs jumped from the crack, clearly not happy about leaving their dark holes.

Revin stabbed one of the orcs who toppled over, but to no avail. There were too many!

In return, an Onrr lato jabbed Nodar with the butt of his spear. Anger welled up in Thorond, and he lifted his axe shouting, "Lazargo!" (a ancient word used in battle). The man looked up, his face full of terror. Thorond's eyes were ablaze. It didn't help the man's fear to see an old man hefting a giant, 60 pound double-bladed axe. The man screemed in terror and tumbled over.

Before Thorond could smash him, a familiar voice said, "Hold Mekorsh! You are outnumbered! Surrender and you will not be harmed....yet." Thorond turned around.

There, in front of Thorond, stood Gleeber, captain of the Onrr lato. He held a large scimitar in his hand and his eyes, with the cruel glint in them, seemed to search right through Thorond's body. "Gleeber." Thorond spat out the words as if the very name had a foul taste. Gleeber's body trembled after Thorond said his name.
Gleeber took a deep breath, "Yes indeed, Thorond." Gleeber's voice quavered but kept his composer. "And if you don't surrender, I have orders to kill your followers before your eyes."

Slowly, Thorond turned to Revin. From his expression, Revin knew what to do. He laid down his weapons and sighed. Thorond dropped his axe so close to Gleeber that it looked like Gleeber would loose his foot.

Gleeber smiled, "Excellent choice! Bind them!" The man whom Thorond had nearly sliced in two found enough courage to tie Thorond's hands. After that, he jumped away, gripping his spear.
"How did you...." Revin began.
"Go the other direction and end up here?" Gleeber asked, "Simple, the left doorway leads to the gate which is a mile west of here."

He turned to his men, "Hurry now!" Gleeber barked, "We cannot leave master waiting." He said the words as if they held little meaning. The Onrr lato pushed Thorond and Revin forward. Both Revin and Thorond were thinking about Nodar and how they couldn't help him.

An orc with spiked armor looked down at Nodar, "Take him away Gurzak!" Another burly orc approached and dragged Nodar away, away from the sun and air, and into the depths of the mountain.

Thanks for looking!

Quoting A M Very nice! As usual, your textures and colors are quite good. The black plate you used to make the cave look black was a genius touch! Maybe if you tiled it, it would look even better? Nonetheless, brilliant!
Thanks! Yeah, I agree on that. But, back then, I didn't have any black tiles so I couldn't. But now I do, so I'm defiantly gonna do it more often. Thanks again!
