About this creation

The 2013 MocOlympics

Lego Junkie's very snazzy Domesticon

Category: Domesticons. Transformers normally take sports cars, jet planes, guns and dinosaurs as their alternate forms. We charge you with designing one of a new range of transformers which disguise themselves as domestic appliances.

This was a very challenging category for me. Want me to make an awesome robot? Sure! A super-cool household appliance? Yeah! Combine the two? ... ... All that to say, all you Transformer builders out there: You have my utmost respect.

Now you may be wondering: "Why the heck is there an egg on the cover when it's a Transformer category?" Well, if I were an egg and I came across MIXMASTER, THE ULTIMATE HAND MIXER TRANSFORMER!!!!!, I'd be runnin'...

---

It looks like the uploader's messing up for me. Since there isn't much time before the deadline passes, I'll just do what Lego Junkie did and post a pic of the appliance and of the robot form. Kinda bummed that I have to do this, but... On my Flickr page you can see the whole transformation, other pics of both forms, and FUNCTION VIDEOS!

---

One thing I wanted to do with this was have a pretty boring, yet slightly interesting appliance model, but then have it transform into something completely different that's a whole lot cooler, but still is recognizably made out of the boring part.

Y'know, this is probably the Transformers thesis statement...

Backstory time? YES! So we all know that Decepticons looovvveee to cook when they're not blowing up skyscrapers, right? Okay, well the Autobots hired a team of Domesticon mini-mercenaries led by this guy, Mixmaster, to infiltrate the Decepticon lair. Mixmaster's personal mission is to sabotage a Decepticon core hidden deep beneath the ocean, hence his "attire."

Times up! Remember to look on Flickr to see the rest of the photos! Lego Junkie, that's a great looking Transformer, all right! Maybe our Formers could fight some time?...

Had to go and have a look at this on Flickr to see better views and the function. Your transformed mode is excellent and the whole thing is really well thought-out and built. Great job, congratulations on advancing!

First of all, I must say that I'm deeply impressed by both MOCs, yours and the one from your opponent. I can only imagine how hard it must be to build a transformer. But there can only be one and your creation impressed me a bit more due to the additional functions. Congratulations, Elliott, your got my vote.

It is the fact that you nailed both forms that means you get my vote. Love the working whisk motion, and the fact it is life size. Great work.

Very cool and very impressive! Your MOC would be cool even if it didn't transform, but when you add that functionality, and the egg guy, this becomes a super MOC.

I like how you've included the working functions, plus had space to fit the transforming hinges into the mixer model. It's a technically impressive build, which looks good too.

Great build mate! I was also considering doing a lifesize appliance, but with time constraints, I didn't figure it was practical. XD The transformed mode on this thing is wicked, the fact that you managed to add in so many greebles, and keep the original model looking clean is pretty ace.
