About this creation
Movie Scene!

This is my entry to the 2013 MOC Olympics vs my opponent Grant W

The Movie Round, my opponent and I were given, Aliens (The 1986 film, not the original), Captain America: The First Avenger, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, as our categories. I wasn't two familiar with the other films, and I happened to be big fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, so the decision wasn't overly difficult.

I decided to make the black smith scene when Captain Jack Sparrow and William Turner first meet. This video is what I used for a source, the scene starts at 4:44

I did edit the background so that it was white, but that is all.

I'd like to wish my opponent Grant good luck!

To the images!!

I really liked how the shadows fell in this picture.

Without the scaffolding, just to make it a little easier to see.

One of the things that I really wanted to incorporate into the build was the ricketiness of the whole building, especially the gaps between the boards of the wall. It took several attempts to get it right, but I'm happy with how it ended up.

There is a light brick underneath of the furnace that can be pressed from the back to light it up!

just a better view of the door.

"You cheated."
"I'm a Pirate."
(This is just to show the general size of everything with the figures in it)

View from the top without the scaffolding or the mill wheel.

I know that the wooden parts on the wall are not actually that high, nor is the stone part of the wall that low, but unfortunately I was restricted by the pieces I had. I'm still extremely pleased with how everything turned out. Thanks for stopping by, comments are always welcome!

I really like the scenery, the details are excellent and it looks just right for the scene. The difficulty is in showing the figs duelling on the rafters while seeing the detail work you put into the base but I think you did a good job. Good luck with your remaining judges!

Great choice for a scene! Classic sword duels are always fun. Love your replication of the second story balance beam fight. The detail work is wonderful from the teeter and the scaffolding to that beautiful fire place and chimney. Great job and Good luck!
