During the Ardennes Offensive several Panthers assigned to Panzerbrigade 150 were disguised as M10 Wolverine tank destroyers. This was a part of a larger operation aimed to cause confusion in the rear of the Allied lines. On February 1945 disguised Panthers encountered the 120th Infantry Regiment (United States). One vehicle was destroyed, three were captured.
About this creation
Again, a favourite vehicle of mine. I love the panther and I love the M10, so the mix of it is the best! It looks hella badass all over and generally kicks some butt. It's also brown and has american markings. How cool is that?
A few panthers were disguised and the info is scarce (no wiki page), read more here .
The tank in World Of Tanks, sitting in my festive Halloween garage (notice the american decals, although the vehicle is german).
I never liked this thing when WoT introduced it. But, I really like this Lego render of it! It looks very accurate compared to the computer model of WoT. I would change the color to something lighter, although I'm not sure what that would be (or if it exist). Love the use of all those wedge 2x4 pieces. Overall really nice not-a-tank-destroyer!
Another outstanding build Alex! Love the concept. Tanks trying to disguise itself as another tank. I read in a book where they talked about "disguising" tank, but have NEVER seen a picture or even a concept drawing. This is a well done design and original idea for a build. Well done!
