Here's a breakdown of how I built the mountain village moc. The display sits on three 4x8 sheets of plywood, one cut in half for access to the beach, mountain, and city. Up to 5 trains (9 volt) running at once on three tracks. Enjoy!
About this creation
See pics of finished mountain at Mountain Village Moc

Layout base plates (land, water, street) then train tracks

Build mountain wall and waterfall

Place support beams inside walls, double check that your train has clearance

Support beams inside mountain

A maintenance door for potential train mishaps on backside of mountain

Layout 2nd level base plates

Layout 2nd level train tracks and bridge/buildings

More levels of base plates and flats

Add more buildings or just build up your mountain wall

Add the details (landscape, animals, minifigs)

Enjoy!

Quoting That guy you saw earlier Really cool! Did you get all those parts from bricklink? If so which store(s) were best?
Mostly brick link some Lego store and eBay for burps/lurps. Shop around tons of good sellers.

Thanks for commenting on my most recent creation. You certainly build on a large scale. This is quite impressive. I noticed the little guy in the photos. Will he be a Lego builder in the making?
