Mayor Rob Ford in Lego
..our embattled Mayor of Toronto immortalized in bricks...
About this creation
I was dared last evening to immortalize our Toronto Mayor Rob Ford in Lego Bricks by my good friend Marty. Since I have a tonne of bricks lying around - quite literally, I obliged. Being my first mosaic and a guerilla build at that, I think it turned out pretty good. The mosaic is 40 studs wide by 48 high and we will use it this Sunday to promote my new brick related business BWTMT Brickworks at the Toronto Train Toy and Doll Show . Should be a hit!

Luv him or hate him Toronto is getting a lot of publicity worldwide and I am sure tourism will sky rocket. As they say there is no such thing as bad publicity. And despite what you may here in the media these days in general we Canucks do not smoke crack we prefer donuts, hockey and beer up here in the great white north eh!

Keep it tuned to my MOCpage for more exciting MOCs from all genres!

Very nicely done, still never tried a mosaic myself. All the best for your business venture, and have a great time at Brickfete!

If it gets huge I will be contracting out. It's ramping up nicely.
Quoting Clever Crowe Also, Chris, if BWTMT starts HIRING, and would consider a Consultant-based Employee doing online-only art, sales, etc. (to avoid the mere 12,000-mile-or-so Commute), then let me know. =) Cheers on the new Biz, mate - sounds like a DREAM JOB to me!

That guy cracks me up. Har har har. But don't get me wrong: I'd trade him for our Soda Jerk Bloomberg any day (albeit the torch has just been passed to some other puppet in a suit)!

Oh! Cool to see a mosaic from you. I've always found these gray-scale/black & white mosaics intriguing. Also, cool to see some "behind the scenes" shots.

Thanks Matt!
Quoting matt rowntRee Ha! Brilliant! Lego is just so perfectly innocent, I bet Ford would love this just to show his detractors that "how can anyone be all that un-good when they're made of Lego?" Looks just like him, someone to have a beer and a doughnut with at a hockey game. You captured personality quite well for a first mosaic, guerilla build. Impressive and excellent!

he does live walking distance from my house and frequents my local strip mall and restaurants - - I'd be glad to make him a copy of this creation if he so desired!
Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Hahaha, yes! It would be hilarious if he actually saw this...
