Here is my LDD model of a T-34-85 tank. It is built to minifig scale. I made a basic version but I may add some extras at a later date.
About this creation

The T-34 medium tank was generally considered one of the best tank designs of WWII. It had heavy sloped armour and carried a powerful 76.2mm F-34 main gun. Its powerful engine and suspension gave the T-34 great speed and mobility.

The T-34-85 was fitted with the larger 85mm ZiS-S-53 main gun to counter the larger Tiger I and Panther tanks. While the 85mm gun was an improvement, the heavier armour of the Wehrmacht tanks still proved difficult to penetrate.

The armour of the T-34 was effective against smaller guns yet towards the end of the war, improved Wehrmacht 75mm and 88mm guns were able to penetrate the sloped armour.

Crew comfort and ergonomics were not one of the T-34's strongest characteristics. The four man crew were squeezed into a small hull and turret. Electronics, such as radios and motors for turrets, were notoriously fragile or ineffective.

The turret of the T-34-85 was redesigned in 1944 to accommodate a larger gun and three men. Finally, the tank commander could leave the aiming and firing to the gunner and focus on coordinating attacks.

The T-34 used a Model V-2-34 38.8 L V-12 diesel engine that produced 500 hp and had a top speed of 53 kph. The T-34 was known for its speed and agility. The tank's reliability and build quality, however, was much more suspect.

The T-34 used the Christie suspension: a coil-spring system that provided a greater range of movement over a leaf spring system. This suspension allowed the T-34 to travel faster over open country. The tracks were also a liability and proved vulnerable to even small-caliber rounds.

I found pictures of many different configurations of the T-34-85 but for this model I chose to make a simplified version.

I chose an Eastern Front colour scheme for my T-34-85. I can imagine this tank rolling across the Russian steppes. Despite all of the T-34's deficiencies and liabilities, it was still considered a potent fighting machine.

Quoting Seaman SPb Great job! T-34 tank with its armor slope and shape of the tank turret is not easy to simulate.
Thanks for your comments. The T-34's design is tricky to capture in Lego. I'm glad you like it.

Quoting Jerry Temple Now I realize the difference between the -76 and -85! :D I would have made the turret curve up to the top a little more, but that's just me.
Thanks for your comments Jerry. I agree that the turret needs some work. Its on my modifications bucket list.

Quoting Michael K. The turret ring looks too high, but great job!
Thanks for the comments Michael. The photo I used for the model had a distinctively high turret ring. I'll have another look and see if I can make the corrections.

Quoting Gabor Pauler Excellent styling, but the front of the turret more resembles to T34/76, the previous version.
Thanks for the comments and the information on the turret. I'll see what I can do to correct the issue.

Quoting World Of Recreation I really love the simple shapings you did, and I agree with Alex, you should join some group and add your stuff there.
Thanks for your comments! I'll browse the other groups and see where this model might fit in. Thanks for the suggestion!

Quoting Alex Sonny This is really really good! The shaping is most excellent, especially the tureet, where you managed to create just the right slopes. The only thing I'd suggest is raising the suspension a little bit... otherwise this is amazing. You should get your creations into more groups, I recommend Digital lego and the World Of Tanks collection.
Thanks for your positive comments Alex. The turret on the T-34 is tricky and there are several ways to build it but this solution works pretty well for my model. I am curious to know how the suspension should be raised. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
