Updated!!: Dec 4th 2013. NEW PICS. My take on the '66 Batmobile. Heavily inspired on the MonsterFighters Hearse. When I finished that set I thought the style would be perfect for a low, lean, and mean Batmobile. Problem was that I don't have much usable bricks. I did however bought two limegreen creator robots, so contrasting color of the black car was limegreen. I don't plan on buying new lego anytime soon so that'll do for now. But true, it would be awesome to use dark red, instead of the green.
About this creation

^ Remember, it's my TAKE on the famous car. I built it without looking at pictures and I didn't try to make a detail perfect replica. I went after the vibe. Anything that didn't look good in the end aesthetically, like a tripple rocketlauncher or the stripe following the wheelwells I just left out. :-) Plus, I wanted the hotrod/dragster look that made the MF-hearse such an awesome machine.

^ The Batmobile started out as a lowered version of the MF Hearse. And I just went from there... Lowered it some more. Lenghtened... And still remaining the possibillity to fit two minifigs in there, the same way the hearse did. It gave me an excuse to buy the Batman and Catwoman set. And I always thought Catwoman would make a better partner for Batman than Robin. ;-)

^ Ofcourse I installed a turbine engine.

^ Underneath it's rather simple.

Update Dec 4th 2013:

Here you can see the only disappointment I have withe thes cars. They are way to big for the modulars eventhough they are both (cars and modulars) minifig-orientated. Ah well...

Quoting J P S Why isn't this more popular? this is great! :) It would be better with the dark red, but still, it's a good design :) I recently built a batmobile (though it's roughly based off the one from "batman" the movie, starring Michael Keaton, but with my own spin on it) and I think I'll be uploading it soon :) anyway, Great build :D
Thanks JPS! Sorry for a late reply, but I hadn't noticed the comment I guess... Anyway... I've build another one, slightly smaller but better, WITH dark red, except for some particular pieces... Go check it out. I'm interested in your Keaton Batmobile. It's my second favorite :-)

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 welcome to the club! I love the retro cars, but, I limit at 6' wide max to scale with the lego road plates, I also did my own batmobile, I love your humor [crap] lol, doing cartoonish creations is quite fun, I think you did a great job on this car, and agree about cat woman!
6studs is a good limit. But I fell in love with the monster fighters hearse and it's agressive frontend using the roofparts as headlight eyebrows. (my inspiration for this Batmobile) They look best in 8 stud configuration... But indeed, that doesn't make it compatible with the modulars I also love... Think I'll rebuild my allready rebuilt hearse, and try to make it smaller somehow to fit my Haunted House... About the crap signage... That was really hard. You don't have too many options in lettering this way in legos, and, I must admit, I cheated a bit using a small piece of folded paper to keep two stacked plates in their position when I'm handeling the modular... Still wanting to break the modular down and create a real moc out of it. But for now, the crap-'joke' works best with the original petshop building. ;-)

Quoting Joost Cumps Second comment (I'm intreged, you know :-) ). My idea the black and lime green scheme is really better then the (original)black and red. You proved that to me with your build. As for the timeless design, you exactly captured the main idea and lines, and stay well to it's instantly recognisable 'WOW' factor. For now, I would love to see your interpretation of 'the tumbler' :-)
I missed this comment somehow... Thanks for the kind words! The Limegreen works like a charm :) But still, I'm anxious to see it done in black and (dark) red :-) As for me building a Tumbler... Not my favorite Batmobile, or even just moviecar, by far... but as I probably don't have the bricks to build a 90's Keaton-Batmoble it may be fun to do a Tumbler and see how it'll end up... What about a Tumbler in 1966 style...? ;-)

Thanks guys, I believe the '66 Batmobile's impact on a young kid's mind is greater than the beauty of the car itself. I just tried to build the visualization of the impact rather than an acurate model :)

That is a really neat design, the lime greens ads up to it. Great work!

Quoting sam the first woah! beautiful! i great colour scheme, nice one!
Thanks Sam, for checking out and commenting. I like the limegreen too, eventhough I used it only because I don't have (enough of) these parts in any other colors. I'd really like to see it in black and dark-red...
