This build is meant to lead to the crossover between Jacob Pennington, ~Brick, and me. Enjoy!
About this creation
Darvainian: "Alright, we are close to Worsan. Dispatch the small boats and get ready to head to the main island. Don't forget to put on your disguises."

For the Lands of Mythron group.
This is another "ranking-up" MO. It is for the Secrets Unearthed challenge, and thus worth 3 character points. This MOC is now caught up to real time. (my last MOC was said to have happened a month or so ago - this one is to-date)

Text accompanies the picture below it.

Darvainian: After I put on my disguise, I jumped in a small boat with my companion Chad and we headed ashore. A few other Nerogueian soldiers also went in small boats but went ashore at different ports. No one should know that we are Nerogueians. We are here solely for the purpose of finding out more about the Black Lotus.

Darvainian: This looks like a good place to lodge for a week or so.

Darvainian did not know that he was being watched.

Who could these men be? More will be revealed in later MOCs.

Darvainian: I was wondering when you'd get back.

Chad: I have much to tell you Darv...I mean sir. *in a hushed voice* I have a few letters and a messages from the men back at the main ship. They said that they received the letters soon after we left to come here. Anyway, here they are.

This next section has to do with crossovers and such as well as leads to where/what I will be building next.

__________________________________________________________________

Darvainian: I started to read the letters. The first one came from the man I had appointed over the future city of Rogath. I previously sent him to a possible building site for Rogath. I was eager to hear what Destrain had sent me.

Darvainian,

A couple weeks ago, you've appointed me the leader of Rogath. Right now I am preparing for the building of its city. I plan to build Rogath nearly just below Darkthorn forest. However there are many hostile creatures there. I would like to request troops from you in order to aid me in purging the creatures. I would be very much grateful for at least thirty troops, but more would be excellent. If you can please send the troops to Tomeu, where I will meet with them there. Thank you for considering my request.

Signed, Destrian.

Darvainian: I wrote my reply:

Destrain,

Thank you for your letter! I am pleased with your progress. The location you chose seems like a good location. Indeed, I am sending you twenty more than what you requested. Stay warm during the coming winter. I am far from home, and that is why this letter is getting back to you so late. Hopefully this will meet your needs.

Sincerely,
Garry

Darvainian: Due to my circumstances in Worsan, I decided to write the letter with ambiguity so that no one would be suspicious if he were to read the letter. I can't have a letter baring my name or the name of Nerogue be read by an Enalican while I am at Worsan. Hopefully Destrian would be able to recognize the way I wrote Sincerely and know it is from me. I then ripped the letter into shreds and threw them into the fire.

I moved on to the second letter. This one came from the King of Medis - a Mythronian.

Hello Darvainian,
I'm contacting you because Mythron needs your help. As you may know, our forces were bitterly destroyed in the invasion of Rainos. Ever since then, my Brother Sir Kindle, has been missing. We believe he's somewhere in Rainos now, but so far we have not been able to rescue him. We believe that a small ship would be able make it past enemy lines and help my Brother! We will glad pay for his safety, please contact us will your answer.

Darvainian: Oh great. How am I supposed to reply to this? I'll have to send the letter by word of mouth through several messengers in case some get caught by Enalicans or random Outlaws.

I called Chad over and told him the message to tell some of the Nerogueians back on the main ship.

Greetings oh King,
Darvainian sent us to tell you that he is on his way to Rainos in search of your brother. He will do his best to find him. He took your advice and is going there by a small boat that will be dispatched from our main Nerogueian ship once the ship gets somewhat near the mainland. Of course, the main ship will not be made visible from the mainland.

__________________________________________________________________

Darvainian: Now on to the final letter. This one is from a Nerogueian scout who lives in a Mythronian town near the shore.

Darvainian,
I have heard some reports on the failed Mythronian invasion of Rainos. This comes straight from a battle at the town of Red Sand. Apparently an Outlaw named Jaldor came to Red Sand randomly and bravely defended it from the onslaught of Mythronians. After the battle, he was granted the position of the town leader. He recently defeated a band of orcs who attack the city annually. Most of the time the orcs steal most of the valuable goods and kill prominent men in the town. This time the orcs failed because of Jaldor and his recently-formed guild - The Crimson Knights. It is doubtless that Jaldor is at least somewhat loyal to Rainos, but it seems that his main goal is to protect the people at Red Sand. Who knows what Mythron would have done to the people at Red Sand had Mythron succeeded. Some here say that with the current King of Reedus (King of Mythron) in charge, he would have ordered for prisoners to be sent back to Mythron. Anyway, that is all the people talk about here and I figured that you would be interested.

For Nerogue,
Scout B

Darvainian: That is certainly interesting! Since I plan to go to Rainos soon anyways, I might as well meet this man. I can't be too cautious though, I'm not sure how Rainos feels about Nerogue. I'll rip up these other letters and throw them into the fire with the first letter.

Back to the story.

Darvainian: Because the perpetrator was not very stealthy, and because of elves' superior hearing (compared to most humans), I heard a man trying to run silently on top of the roof. I could tell he was getting closer so I....

....lunged backwards in a flip to avoid whatever was coming for me while pulling out my double daggers.

The perpetrator which I then knew to be a strong man, quickly threw his pointy knives at me while he had a distance advantage. Thankfully he missed.

We clashed our blades together in a furious battle. However, it was becoming clear that because of his longer light blade and his overall greater strength, he was gaining the advantage.

Unexpectedly, the perpetrator pulled out a knife from behind his back and was about to throw it when....

....Chad tackled him to the ground. The knife that the perpetrator threw was misguided because of Chad. The knife barely missed my head.

Chad whacked the perpetrator's head pretty good on the road. The dazed man sat up a bit as I started to interrogate him.

Darvainian: "What do you think you're doing?!" I shouted. "Who told you to attack me, and why" I demanded.

Because of his dazed state, he answered me.

Perpetrator: I was....huh...hired....by um...uh...a black...flower...or somethin...."
Darvainian: Lotus?
Perpetrator: That um....rings a bell.
Darvainian:
What'd the Black Loutus look like?

By this time the perpetrator realized what was going on and realized what he had revealed to me. However, he played along by making it look like he was thinking hard to remember something.

While he was "thinking", he pulled out his last knife that was unknown to Darvainian and Chad. He did a quick stab at Chad's left leg to cause a distraction, and he ran off into the night.

FNJ's Commentary
Well, that's it! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! This time I experimented with doing some speech bubbles, titles, and action movement with GIMP. The forced perspective shot at the beginning turned out great in my opinion. The wall details on the place where Darvainian was staying was my favorite part of the MOC. It looks cool and I got to try out some more techniques.

This is great! Both the build and the story go together really well! Now we just have to build our actual crossover, just as soon as Brick finishes his first part. :)

The gimp is strong with this one... but we knew that already. It's a much better job than your LOM intro - remember that? I'm interested to see what you, Brick and Jacob do in Rainos - the fate of Raino-Nerogueian relations sits in your hand.

I really like the builds! The pictures are excellent as well! I love the detail everywhere! One thing though, the speech bubbles (in my mind) don't look that medieval. They make it look sorta like a comic strip. This is just a suggestion, you can ignore it if you like. I'm glad that you're having fun with them though!
