X/3_Quick-Strike_ Type Fighter
About this creation
"These spacecraft are meant for quick dives at marching armies or light defense escorts for larger vessels. They may also be employed as scout-craft or bomber defense. Successful missions have also seen this ship being used as one-man rescue-craft, often diving into frays or danger-zones to retrieve important personalities, sometimes of the side of the employers of the fighter, and sometimes of the enemy's.
"This ship's armament are four light lasers. It has three large thrusters that make for plenty of speed. The two side-thrusters may be rotated, ensuring maneuverability as well as the possibility of vertical takeoff. The ship has room for up to two men, but is more often used just as one-man ship. It has a wireless internal operating-system that, through the pilot's helmet, can directly access the pilot's mind to ensure almost immediate reactions in combat, and to ensure that no mistakes from the pilot's thinking to his physical actions are made. This system of steering makes the hip easier to control, unless the pilot looses focus... Please act with caution when flying the X/3_Quick-Strike_ Type Fighter.
"Special features of this fighter include the easy dis-assembly into five parts for mass production, storage and employment."

~from the official documented description of the X/3_Quick-Strike_ Type Fighter, on file in the Inter-Universal Guide to Military-Employed Ships and Starcraft

Says all about the ship you need to know!

Yes, it does separate into five parts!

I am gathering all my lego stickers on a big sticker-sheet, to be applied when I think they would fit. I applied five of them onto the three wall segments on the inside, so that you get the sense you are in a starfighter. Didn't change that much, though...

This was a very fun build! I really love the color-combination whenever I see other people use it, and I decided to use it, too! Normally, you would put a Galaxy Patrol Minifig from Minifigures series 7 in these kind of ships, but I don't have one yet... Oh well. If anybody can tell me what "faction" this color-scheme belongs to, whether fictional or non-fictional, I'd really appreciate it.

Hope you liked it!

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga You know, I was just about to say the Russian Space Federation...and then I saw your comment :) Nations don't necessarily vanish just because it's the future, so I like adding slight touches of realism into my scifi. Good job on the angled wings- my only critique is that they look a little thin for a spaceship. Next time, make them look chunkier so it looks as though they hold some mechanical parts inside.
I wanted it to bear a certain resemblance to a small Fly... Quick, but not very strong. So I made the wings kind of flimsy. Maybe I'll try your suggestion in my next spaceship... Thanks for the tip!

Quoting Stormjay Rider Oh, it looked like regular Blue to me. Hm... Alpha team used dark blue and trans orange, so if you added some Alpha Team blue...
I dunno. In one of Thomas of Tortuga's Mocs, he used this color-scheme and said it was a russian Minitary aircraft... Set in the future, though. I don't know...

Quoting Stormjay Rider If you gave it a bit more white, it could be an Ice Planet 2002 ship... and is that a BIONICLE minifig torso I see?
Sure is! Took me a long time to finally include that somewhere... you think it could be ice planet? I don't think they had much dark blue... Hmmm...
