About this creation
LIU Cargo Tracking Unit - (CTU)

The Ludgonian Industrial Union presents a tool for tracking all of your cargo across the universe, the Cargo Tracking Unit. Powerful antennas and advanced software pinpoint the movements of your cargo and take inventory in your ports.

Currently, there are over two hundred thousand LCU's spread across the universe. Their combined power can track your shipments anywhere*. The 200,000 units together are known as the CTS, or Cargo Tracking System. Here is the system's emblem.

The CTU's revolutionary antenna can swing 360 degrees and can contort to several angles to improve signal reception.

A close-up of the antenna. Oooh...ahhhh.

Another shot of the antenna. It has two long range antennas to communicate with other CTU's and two short range antennas for detecting cargo in its designated area. At the end of the adjustable arm is an advanced antenna that can direct beams at individual units of cargo and obtain the cargo's information, like destination, contents, and other cargo stuff.

At the base of the CTU is the processing computers and servers that receive and transmit data from the CTS. These computers and servers connect to the 360 degree turning system.

Below the antenna is the cabin, where a highly trained Tracking Engineer monitors the CTU's systems. Ok...you don't have to be too highly trained for this job, but we like to make them feel more important.

The Tracking Engineer has several systems to monitor. On the right, he has the radar, to track cargo ships and a panel of buttons, to steer the adjustable antenna. On the left, he has the list of passing cargo and the CTS readout to track distant shipments out of his range.

On both sides of the cabin are various instruments, systems, and well..just stuff.

The CTU picks up on an approaching ship. The CTS informs the Tracking Engineer that the approaching ship is a LIU Cargo Barge.

The Cargo Barge passes by the Cargo Tracking Unit. The folks at Fake Bottled Spring Water Inc® requested an update on their shipment of "spring water". The CTU's advanced antenna scans the deck of the Cargo Barge and locates the water container. An alert is sent to the company, its shipment will arrive in three hours.*

Although the LCU was designed to operate in orbit or deep space, the unit was still given legs so that it could be attached to space docks or ships. This versatility is what makes the CTU so great.

For a small fee, your empire or company can tap into the LIU's Cargo Tracking System. Sign up today!

Note:Not every empire was smart enough to allow a CTU into their space and blackouts may occur. No refunds can be given if your shipments are lost in these blackouts. The ETA's given by the Cargo Tracking System are only estimates and are accurate only 47% of the time. Your cargo information is kept confidential, unless a larger customer or space pirates pay us more.

Nice use of some big clunky pieces. Incorporating just one of them smoothly into a MOC can be challenging, but you've got at least three different kinds of "useless" piece in there. Well done!
