About this creation
It's finally here! I've been working on this MOC on and off for about 2 months. There is a story to go along with this, but first I'll show you the details of the build.

I hope to do many episodes with my super hero Darkeye. Darkeye is the third Batman, so you probably won't be seeing any usual super heroes or villains. Oh yeah, and this is DC - not Marvel. This episode and about 1-2 more episodes will be explaining some things about Gotham city and how it has expanded to four times its size since Bruce Wane was Batman and other information that will be revealed as the MOCs are built. Obviously from the title this episode is about some dude named Kestrel. The origin of Darkeye will probably be revealed in segments in future episodes as "flashbacks."

Darkeye - The Third Batman episodes will be continuing for years. I have lots planned. If you continue to follow the story you should see how the characters develop and how the storyline progresses. Enjoy!

Note: Text corresponds to the picture(s) below it - even for the story.

My favorite part of this MOC besides the Batmobile is the front of this building! I love all of the wall detailing I was able to add symmetrically. You'll see later that it is the secret hideout of Professor Genesis.

The sidewalk took forever to put together. It's patterned, but it alternates between the 1-brick thick gaps of the X-pattern.

My favorite part of the MOC - The Batmobile. It was inspired by the Batmobile in the animated series in years 2004-2005.

Don't tell me that you wouldn't put junk on your roof if you had a flat one XD

The alleyway.

Creepy and awesome at the same time.

One of my favorite details is how I made the lampposts. It's a clear minifigure head with the One Ring attached on the top of the head. The bottom of the head is attached to a 2x4 round plate which is in turn connected to the larger clear piece.

A nice touch.

The Drain.

Air conditioning units and an odd generator type thing - Darkeye won't be pleased.

Obviously it's made by the Roganthian company. Hint hint.

But wait, there's more!

Let's head inside shall we?

The company that Professor Genesis started to cover up his scheming was a packing and shipping company.

The gate opens and shows where smaller packages are stored. Business is good here.

I like the ceiling fans and the air conditioning ducts.

The elevator to Professor Genesis's laboratory. It's not that secret...he's shown the authorities the room before and showed them his "primary" work which would have been quite useful had he not turned evil and resorted to the....well....you'll see later ;)

I made it so that the roof can come off fairly easy while not compromising too much so that it wouldn't connect well when fastened to the walls.

Yup. Professor Genesis is the one in the suit.

Computer screens, buttons, levers, and all of that other jazz!

Here is Professor Genesis's true primary research is all about - he tells lies and gives phoney demonstrations to cover up what it really does.

How long did it take to build this contraption? Oh, probably thirty years.

Tubes that flow mysteriously from one purple shield thing through the contraption and back to the second purple shield thing.

Put in a ripcord and let'er rip! It vibrates the room so it gives it that sense of power I wanted.

That concludes the tour of the scenery and buildings.

"To the Batmobile!"

These next 15 photos are all about the Batmobile. It think that it's totally awesome! Because I want to keep this series going and I usually don't need those colors and pieces, this guy may stay built for a long time.....

The remaining pictures are about the story.
If you don't want to read the story, that's fine :)

Before I begin, I'm sorry about the iffy photos. It's hard to take photos in the dark because the camera just doesn't focus that well (you get lucky sometimes), and I'm in the process of getting a small and flexible tripod.

All but the first picture, the picture with the laser pulses, and the last picture were not GIMPed (except for things like lighting/contrast things like that) The dark/bluish light was all in-camera. Even the green things that glow and the lamppost lights are in-camera.

Darkeye pulls up near Professor Genesis's Packing and Supply Corporation building.

He had been watching Professor Genesis and his employees here for several weeks now. He his sure that illegal activity is taking place inside. But the only way in is to either blow your way in, or enter through the front door.

Darkeye sent the Batmobile speeding off as he stood on the sidewalk in the silence of the scene.

He walked toward the alley....

....and waited.

Two employees exited the building as predicted - all cheery and clumsy. Thursday nights were the nights where intoxicating drinks are offered freely to the employees. Maybe that's why no one has ever left his position at Genesis Packaging and Supply Corp.

Up above, Darkeye through down a sponge device as the door to the building was being closed...

...And it kept the door from closing all the way.

Darkeye took his grappling hook and headed for the roof.

Swiftly and silently he swung over the edge and landed on top of the roof.

The guard was not expecting a visitor tonight as a Batarang knocked him out cold.

Once the roof was cleared Darkeye jumped over the edge of the building...

...and landed softly on the sidewalk below.

It was time to begin.

Darkeye entered the building....

....and observed the area. He noticed a guard walking towards the area so he lifted his grappling hook and hid up on top of the air conditioning ducts.

Intercom: "We are beginning phase two"

As all of that was happening...

Professor Genesis: Don't worry about a thing lad. You see, all of your memories will be erased, and new ones put there in place. Your mind will be altered so that you will without question obey me. Once your mind is cleared, an identical 'you' will be formed in the second canister beside you. You will both be given the same memories that I have chosen so that nothing can stand in my way. Oh, don't worry. You won't be doing this alone with your clone. I will clone other unsuspecting young lads who are released from the Orphanage and they will remember the same experiences that you will remember. Hahaha!

This gooey substance will absorb into your skin and shut down your voluntary muscle movement. So you will be able to hear, breath, and live but be completely submissive to where we want you to go. The best part - you don't feel a thing.

I have combined the research of countless doctors, physicians, alchemists, scientists, and chemists that date back thousands of years. From the primitive methods of preventing infection of wounds like with moldy bread that the Egyptians stumbled upon, to the most advanced technological discoveries. I've sold all of my research (which in turn helped me continue my research) except for my most prized aggregation. I have discovered a way to clone human beings and bring the clones to life.

If I clone an old man, the clone will be an old man though he had only been living for 2 seconds. If that weren't enough, I also concocted a device that can remove all memory from the original copy and implant whatever memory I want back into the original copy and its clone. On top of that, I can link my brain to the original copies and the clones which instills complete and utter obedience.

No one can stop me now! Hahaha!

After that, Professor Genesis's most trusted adviser placed the final cartridge into the machine.

The room became fuzzy for a moment as the machine started to run.

The lad was placed in one of the canisters....

....and was lifted into position. After several minutes, phase one was complete - all of the lad's memories were erased and every part of him had been copied in digital form in the machine.

Professor Genesis: We are beginning phase two.

Back to Darkeye who just heard that message over the intercom

Darkeye jumped down from the ceiling on top of the guard by the intercom/computer....

....and ran to the elevator shaft.

COMPUTER: "The physical and blank memory copy is complete. Standby for Phase 3."

Professor Genesis: Everything is working perfectly! Now for the switch...

Suddenly, Darkeye enters the scene.

ZZCHICH! ZZCHICH! Laser pulses from the adviser's weapon fired at Darkeye. The weapon in Professor Genesis's hand was knocked out by a Batarang. Through evasive maneuvers, Darkeye managed to dodge the laser pulses.

THWACK! Darkeye slammed the adviser to the ground.

Professor Genesis took this opportunity to pull the lever and start phase three and escape - hoping that Darkeye would chase him.

COMPUTER: "Memory download is commencing. 30 seconds remaining until complete. Please standby."
Darkeye hurried over to the computer. Where is it....Shutdown! .......Yes!
COMPUTER: "Memory download canceled - canisters are opening. Have a good day sir."

Darkeye was able to stop the false memory download. He picked up the clone and the lad and placed them into the Batmobile.

Darkeye went up to the cloning room once more and tried to find the lost memories of the young lad. After finding no trace of it, he checked the trash bin on the computer - it had last been deleted at the time when Professor Genesis escaped. The lad's memories were lost.

After much thinking, Darkeye planted small bombs that would bring to ruin all of the research in that lab. He couldn't risk the government getting their hands on the cloning research once they discover this in the morning.

And he sped off.....

END OF EPISODE 1

Thanks for looking, God bless!

Incredible detail! Love the building - from the brick-built doors to the evil lair! Junk-ridden alley is one of the many great touches. Overall a great job!

Awesome job with the builds and equally nice job with setting the mood (lighting). I feel like the Professor's lack of foresight to be a little cheesy, but otherwise, great start!

Very nicely done - love all the texturing on the buildings and the Batmobile is great! I only have one concern - the third Batman is Nightwing (Dick Grayson), the first Robin. Even so, this is a spectacular build and I look forward to more chapters!

Very good David! The set itself is great, I especially like the alley. The fact you've created your own hero is cool too and it's a good idea to upload extra pictures of the set, although I think they would have been better at the end. Good story too. I look forward to reading the rest. --Blast--

Well, this is simply superb. So much good going on here that narrowing it down to a few things is pretty difficult. I love the texture you achieved by jamming those cheeses into the slopes. The buildings look so cool and industrial. Makes the whole thing that much darker. So well done, David.

Quoting clayton Marchetti Wow! David this is incredible , the batmobile looks futuristic and has an awesome shape . I love the instrument panel. The buildings are fantastic especially the lab . Now I must be out of the loop. You said Darkeye is the third Batman what happened to Bruce Wane . Excellent job!
Thanks! I was definitely going for that futuristic shape :D My Darkeye stories are in the future - so Bruce Wane is long gone :(

Quoting David Wayne looks good but you need an origin story. keep it up!
Haha, you can't fit an entire origin into one episode! I'm sure other super hero stories didn't start out immediately with the past ;) Thanks!

Quoting David . So much win!!! Great story, and now I realize why there isn't a bat-cave- It's not Darkeyes fortress!! XD Excellent work, the outside of the building is jam-packed with details, and everything else is loaded with them as well.
Thanks David! I'll have to build a Batcave sometime - who knows. Maybe it'll be next :D

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga My only critique on those is that the lab looks a little too clean with no equipment on the floor and only a few hoses, bu the use of the CHI motor is genius! I'll be looking forward to more of this series!
Maybe in this futuristic age people are more clean? XD I would've built more of the lab had I built a bigger black building. I was thinking that the cloning section of his lab would have the cleaner look to it since, as you know, dangerous capsules and such are used and you wouldn't want to trip over anything :) Thanks!

Quoting Topher Adams Looks like you're off to a great start! I will be looking forward to your next episode. (if the lighting is giving you trouble try using a colored, low-light bulb, maybe purple or blue)
Thanks! I actually think that I didn't have enough light :/

well, the batmobile is what I d expect from someone who never does cars, I have invested 20 hrs + on mine, but, the buildings impressed me a lot, a very cool mix of futuristic dark classic genre, the story; the scheme is brilliant, but, a bit too talkative, in comics, there is a lot less explanation than this, I understand the lighting to be dark outside, but, why has the lab have to be in the dark? it should have been lighted, overall it s an interesting take on making a superhero serie, since it s a very extensive project, it s only natural that there might be a few glitches, by pointing them out to you, it gives you a chance to correct them, in order to get the success you deserve for such an effort, great job David!

Really neat job! The detailing on the buildings is a good mix between deco, Gotham City style and futuristic! It is a little hard to see some of the greeble-work with only black- maybe next time get some more accents in a slightly different color. Also, I have to agree with Gilbert about the Batmobile. Nice job on the lab and the wide-open lobby spaces, though! My only critique on those is that the lab looks a little too clean with no equipment on the floor and only a few hoses, bu the use of the CHI motor is genius! I'll be looking forward to more of this series!

This is your second-best MOC yet, and that is no mean praise. The detailing, while not perfect, comes very close to my standards for perfection in places. It might have helped if you added a second color to break up the black on the lab, but the only real flaw (although it might be just me) is the blue stripes on the Batmobile. They seem to be a little blocky and not-sleek. On the other hand, the Chima bike motor was my favorite part - maybe I should add "functional" to the list of qualities I try to add to my main MOCs.
