Mobile Suit Sapphire
Ok, Here we go. This is what I've been working on for the last three months. This is my attempts at a Gundam style mech. I hope you all like it!
About this creation
sapphire 002

Well, since my attempts at the AEGAKS theme started by Rabid Goldfish, I decided to try a full body mech, and so this came into being. This is the first of three mechs I have made since September and somehow, this one still is my favorite.

sapphire 003

I would also like to apologize in advance for the massive amount of pictures. I set up a backdrop to make it extra nice, so I was gunna get as many pictures as I could!

sapphire 004

I would like to give credit for the head design to Sylphion, who I found in my search for helmet designs. It is not exactly the same as his, as I made modifications, but the visor section of the helmet comes from him. You can see his mocs at his page.

sapphire 006

AEGAKS style feet with a sad attempt at ankle guards, but they have the desired effect.

sapphire 007

Yes, the sticker is dirty. That was more random than intentional anyway.

sapphire 010

Now I know this is not a Gundam head. However, it is inspired by Gundam Unicorn, which is where Sylphion got his inspiration. And after watching the show a little, I saw the similar helmet-like design on the massproduced earth federation mechs.

sapphire 009

I personally like it better than the gundam heads just because it looks cleaner.

sapphire 011

This one I would consider to be a ground mech, due to a lack of the neccesary propulsion equippment. Although it does have jump boosters for jumping distances of 70-150 ft depending on the weight of armaments.

sapphire 012

some back views

sapphire 013

Note the arm attached plasma blade. able to withstand the heat of lightsabers and with equal cutting power. when active the blade is charged with high density GM particles, which can cut through any material.

sapphire 014

sapphire 015

sapphire 016

cannon firing stance/crouch. Cannons can alternate between beams or projectiles. Backfire from beams and particle cannons can be redirected and used as propulsion for aided jumping/maneuverability.

sapphire 033

now this is out of order. This is the back without the cannons attached. More pictures of that down the page...

Now if the cockpit wasn't obvious enough...

There it is!!

And there's the pilot!

Ejecting Buster cannons (yes, that is what I'm calling them).

sapphire 042

Ah, did you think that was it. Oh no. not yet. Presenting my favorite part of this moc...

sapphire 043

PLASMA SHEILD!!!!!!!

sapphire 044

I havent seen anything like this yet, so I'm gunna tap-tap it.

sapphire 045

I love the transparency of the sheild, which can attach to either arm or split evenly between the two.

And a video of a gif, because I don't know how to upload a regular gif.

Fourth wall - Well this picture uploading stuff sure takes long, especially when you want to make it nice. Let me know how I did! There are two more of these on the way, and I will try not to take as many pictures. I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and happy new year if I don't post anything till then. Well, see ya later, and dont forget to comment!

Quoting Sylphion - Amazing work! I didn't realise that I would influence the builds of others, seeing my name being mentioned gives me a warm tingly feeling.
I know the feeling. I feel the greatest ideas are the ones taken from others and then improved upon, which I think is part of being human. We learn from each other. Thank you and Thomas Z for the inspiration.

This is quite the mech! He seems very "bulky", in a good way, as I also like to build my mechs with a bulky look. The color scheme also looks very nice. Keep it up :D

Quoting Declan Muller Wounderful! Absolutely wounderful. Listen, about those gifs. There's an image hosting website dedicated to lego called Brickshelf (http://www.brickshelf.com/). What you do is upload it there and then copy a regular image, but replace the links with the ones from brickshelf. It's a bit tricky, but it should help. :)
Oh, Ok! Thank you for the info. I will try that for my future posts.

With that porthole, and maybe a green/blue colorscheme, I could easily see this functioning as a marine/submersible type ms. Very nicely done. Love the cannons, always had a yhing for big guns, I have. The feet suited it, though if you want to change the ankle guards, try plates instead of slopes. All told, phenominal work. Can't wait to see what's next! <Blub>

Man... this looks amazing! To be honest and it's my humble opinion, there is no much MS feel on it, but the model is superb! Love the hands and the chest with the porthole is awesome. The overall armos is great and the cannons are massive. Great job!

Quoting Thomas Z. Big, bulky and brings devastation to the field! A very nice build, considering it's your first shot at a Mobile Suit. I like the way the hands are made, very clever. The head design made me smile, seeing it in real bricks, since it was originally from my Delphine model that Sylphion evolved into a very interesting design. This MS reminds me a lot of the older GM Cannons with all the armor, the color scheme is also nice. Can't wait to see the rest. Great job, and merry xmas! (P.S.: Check out my builds if you need some ideas on mobile suits)
Oh I see! Thats cool! Now I can give you credit as well, and I am glad you enjoyed it. I'm not too familiar with Gundam in general, but by the massive amount of creations you have for them, you know alot more than I do. I shall definitely look at some of your designs. Im actually looking for a foot/ankleguard design right now, so I will definitely look at yours. Thank you for the comment and have a Merry Christmas and happy new year as well.

Very nice work! It has the feel of either being a mass-produced MS or a unique specialized one. My only suggestion is a rifle of some sort so that it can fire effectively at all ranges; cannons for long, machine cannons for short, rifle for mid. And I always love mechas with a real cockpit.
