At 10:26 AM today, a 911 call came in about a burning garage. The BFRD and BCSD were dispatched, and 1-Alpha-104 showed up on scene at 10:30. The deputy reported massive smoke. At 10:33 Engine 1 and Utility 1 arrived, setting up a water supply and making the attack. At 10:42 the flames were out and they began overhauling. At 10:57 the roads were re-opened and the units were cleared. As they began to leave, the owner of the property showed up and talked to the deputy and FF. At 11:14, the scene was cleared. The cause if the fire is determined to be a flammable liquid insect killer, ignition unknown.
Funny thing, as I was doing this I was listening to my scanner and there was a fire call to a suburb home. It was described as and outdoor fire, but when the engine showed up, the officer said that it was a burning Rudolph light up Christmas decoration. It was decided that the nose was the cause of the fire.
