About this creation

It ain't all bread and circuses...

Here for your - something or other, I present a little 7 wide model of a tipper lorry of the type used to carry scrap, usually. It's no particular model, unless by some accident it looks like one you know well; in which case that's what I intended all along.

The back in all it's backness...

Turn the gear on the side and voila! The mechanism works well, and it'll tip up with a full load as well. There's also progressive rate working steering on the front two axles, operated via the red wotsit on the roof.

Pretty compact mechanisms, although the floor of the tipper bed is a bit high.

The cab comfortably takes two figs, and the doors open.

Someone doesn't like having the boss along for the ride. Maybe he'd be happier if the suit was in the back...

Here's one I made earlier. 12 wide, same functions, although the workings are entirely different.

Since I had two, why not make more...?

I don't know why I'm so fond of having the same thing in different sizes; maybe that's a question for a therapist.

Somebody stop me!

At least they don't take up much room....

Thanks for stopping by. This has been Trucks R Us, apparently.

woah! you make me wish I was that good at technics, 7 wide fits the regular roads, I m not even dreaming of making a truck that functional, I sometimes think about the scale of my trucks, the wheels are the same as the cars... it ain t right, I live with it for now, but, posts like this make me wonder on how I could manage better, I love that you make many sizes, and the space version is super, you funny guy, I lol, when I saw them all fit in one another like a Russian egg, xd, another feat to your credit Nick, you must be millionaire by now, xd.

Quoting Andy L 7 wide glorious 7 wide, this immediately grabbed me. This looks fantastic. Crammed with functions, not easy putting them in on this scale. Progressive steering is something I've tried to use and ended up scrapping because the second set of wheels hardly turn and the wheel spacing ends up looking a bit odd. Very impressed to see you've managed to do this successfully. I still really like the old school small technic wheels, wish lego still made them as most of mine are all cracked. Love the small version and the micro version, thought we might have a repeat of red lorry yellow lorry? Top work as always and wishing you a happy new year.
Thanks Andy - it means a lot coming from the maker of such magnificent minifig vehicles. You can find a close up of the steering mechanism in this post http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/368115 ; just bear in mind the top strengthening bars (2 of those 1 wide plates with holes at each end) are left off for clarity.

Haha the tipper in a tipper in a tipper... I really like this one, especially how it's so perfect for minifig size. As always, you somehow manage to cram all sorts of tech into it, the steering is really well made. The colours fit nicely too, I don't know if it was intentional, but the way the container is made of older plates with newer lighter ones is very clever. Kudos!

wow! fun, highly playable and made in Britain! what more could you ask for? i love the shot of them all in each other- don't worry about making different scales! ;D (i know your joking) i'm doing it with a current project, '66 pontiac GTO. the main 18-wide one and a 6-wide one. anyway, enough about me (who cares?!), a great little MOC, should definitely be a set!
