Messerschmitt Bf 109
Messerschmitt Bf 109, the Luftwaffe's primary fighter during WW2.
About this creation
This aircraft certainly needs no further introduction, but it's one of those planes that just has to be in my collection. The plane is like my other aircraft models in 1:40 scale.

This model will be the last upload this year, but of course a Spitfire as a counterpart to this, will follow.

Happy New Year to all!

Quoting Bill Ding I can see that the wheels do not fold, but sometimes you want the plane to look really realistic rather than to have all of those features, like a cockpit and working landing gear. And relistic it is! For such a small plane, it is very detailed. Much more than the Bf-109 I'm making right now.
You are right about the landinggear. I prefer to make my 1:40 models as realistic looking as possible. Including folding landinggear, openable cockpit, etc. will often compromize the wing-/fuselage-design, and make things too bulky.

The perfect complement to your Spitfire, must be fun to fly them around the house together, VRRRRRrrrrr Rat-Tat-Tat-Tat-Tat! WOOOOooooo - Ka-Booooom! :p I like the way you made the wing tips, I may borrow this for my own planes sometime as it looks really good. The landing gear is also nice, does it fold up? Epic job!

Quoting jim mcdonough funny you built one of these,i am just about to build one,i think it is a very hard plane to build but you seem to have got it right here,i especially like what you have done with the wings, shame lego lacks decent cockpit glass etc,its a real let down by lego i think, not a lover of lego glass bricks, exellent work 5/5
Looking forward to see your version. I made wings hinged to get both leading and trailing edge at the right angle.

Thank you all for your comments. @ John Lamarck: The nose or spinner is one of those things, which is very hard to get right, so I am aware that the nose looks a little big.

Great details for a small plane, I especially like the angle on the wings and the cockpit canopy, well done!
