Stratos
Motorized Lego Lancia Stratos
About this creation
I've used platform from my (le)go-kart (four L motors, two 8878 batteries, two V2 receivers) to create this interpretation of a Lancia Stratos.

It is 42 studs long, and 21 studs wide and weighs 978g.

It has 4 L motors which are coupled/geared 5:1 and power is transmitted, without differential, to the rear axle.

Wheel & Tire: 41896/41897 front and rear.

Everything can be opened.

It has working fake engine at the back and spare tire at the front.

Both batteries are easily accessible

Headlights can be opened.

It has fake fuel caps on both sides.

Few details in the interior with fake fire extinguisher in the middle.

Layout of motors and batteries.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Quoting sam c You've done such a good job on this one! I've actually got an evo2. Would love to have a go at building one of these myself, could you post up some instructions pleeease? Or at least give me some help on what bits I'd need. Thanks =D
Thanks! I'm sorry but I have no instructions and it is already disassembled, but images are quite detailed and maybe you could learn from them what you need. Most important are, ofcourse, motors (I've used 4 L and 1 servo), batteries (2 8878) and IR (V2) receivers.

Quoting Alex B That's a lot of motors! Very nice model. The inclusion of the V6 was a good choice. :) I also really like the pop up headlights! Very cool feature. :)
Thank you very much! :)

Quoting Alex Sonny Astonishing! You really captured the shape well, especially the front windshield - always so hard to get the curve right. I'm a tank enthusiast, but I don't mind an excellent car once in a while, especially if it's as good as this! Really good job on the functions too.
Thanks! :)

Quoting clayton Marchetti Wow! Beautiful job! I loved the video it was truly excellent. The body shaping is fantastic . I like the working fake engine that's awesome and I like the flip up headlights too. Brilliant work!
:) I'm glad you like it and that you have watched the video because it is the best way to see how powerful really is that combination of motors and batteries. Also, flip of the headlights and the fake engine are much better shown there. Thank you very much for your comment :)

Quoting Achintya Prasad Not bad, not bad at all ;-D The fact you managed to fit sooooo much PF in such a small area is really, really cool! I think the only thing that could improve this are some better angled wheel arches (though I'm not a car builder, so those could be bang on), and maybe some of those great racing stripes ;-)
:) Thanks! I perfectly agree with you about the stripes, they make every car look a bit better :) and I promise I will do better wheel arches next time ;-) Thank you for your honesty :)

Quoting Karl M. K. Thats a very cool stratos. I like how you have managed to build a full-size car that is still light enough to move around very quickly.
Thanks! Those 4 L motors powered with 2x 7.4V are very powerful but still light enough (2x 8878 battery box weighs only 150g).
