My Entry for the Classic Space Pocket Money Contest II... Enjoy!
About this creation
I'm late, so I'll be short...

Space Fixers is a theme where brave spacemen repair various spacecrafts and such to protect innocent civilians (aka classic space minifigures).

This set is 100 parts. It's a small ship with a scooter on the back, and a storage section in the middle for the damaged satellite.

The scooter is reaching the satellite...

Grabbing...

Docking...

The locking mechanism...

All set to go!

The ship alone...

Underside...

Thanks!

The 100 parts

Alternate 1 : Debris Auto-Recycler And Defense Pod (no remaining parts)

Alternate 2 : Fast Intervention Speeder

The 15 remaining parts :

Alternate 3 : Remote communication Outpost and Scooter

The 9 remaining parts :

That's it, It's 00:10, I hope I'm not DQ'd...

Thanks for watching, and thanks to the Davids for this very cool contest, an interesting (and nostalgic) challenge!

Bye!

Thanks David! I definitely have to work on the color scheme. Afterwards, I find it a little dull... See you!

The dual cockpits which let fresh space in through all those gaps puts me in mind of many Futron specials. I think it feels a bit like a utilitarian branch of that theme. Orange and grey is an interesting mix, somehow it doesn't quite work in the main model, maybe the balance with the trans yellow. 8 I like these alternatives perhaps better than the original. The play functions in the play base gets a big thumbs up from me. 8 I like the detaching parts, each looks cool in their own right, and satellite scavenging looks a whole lot of fun. 8 The attention to that later CS/Futron style building is quite tricky. I like the final result a lot. 8

Thanks David! Your input means a lot, and the rating is what I hoped to reach! You're right about the trans colors, but I dealt with what I had... I only have 2 on those 3 parts in trans blue, plus it's regular blue and didn't quite fit the color scheme as well as trans-light blue... I'm eager to read David A.S.'s comment... If you do it again next year, I'm in - for the win, of course! ;-)

A great idea for a build. I like the shape of this craft. The way that you've done the wings suggests that it goes slowly along: this is a working ship not a flash racer. I think a couple more engines might help (or perhaps those pods are ultra-powerful?). I like the grey & orange combination but I think that you should have stuck with trans-blue, like the solar panels on the satellite. 7 The alternate builds look superb, though the defence pod does go against the peaceful ethics of this contest and CS. Both the ships look as though they could be main builds and it's great that you had spare parts for the recycler. I love all of the folding wings and canopies on the Intervention Speeder: needlessly complicated? No just more fun! 9 There are so many stories to make from this set, just like the originals. Everything looks sturdily built and those hinges should lock the little scooter in place nicely. I like how the satellite can be stowed and that you even managed to give the guys some tools within the 100 part limit. 8 A high CS factor here. Hinges, docking, canopies that leave spacemen exposed to space and a peaceful job. 8 Total 32

This is superb, the first ship just steals the show with the genius cockpit design and all the functions, and the speeder is awesome as well! A really creative design with great features in all alternatives! I really hope this still gets accepted, wouldn't want to see all this hard work go to waste.
