MELO R2: Finn Tegotash vs. Disco86
Orthanc Bracket
About this creation
Here is my entry to round 2 of the 2013-14 Middle Earth Lego Olympics. My opponent is Disco86. Our category is the following quote from the Fellowship of the Ring:

"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."

In the Hobbit, the dwarves are captured by the Mirkwood elves and locked in their dungeons. They would have remained there for years had not Bilbo Baggins (the smallest person), stolen the keys to their cells and let them out. He then helped them to escape the palace with a brilliant plan for floating down the river in barrels.
While the dwarves are going down the river, though, they are attacked by orc soldiers (in the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug movie). The orcs are, in turn, attacked by the elves, creating an exciting movie sequence and providing me with a scene that has been a lot of fun to replicate.

I stuck Bilbo Baggins on the back of the model in an effort to make my build more relevant to the category. So, here he is, standing around in the elf palace trying to discover a way out.

Quoting MCLegoboy ! That was a great scene in the movie. Hilarious, too. I feel that the dark Brown Barrels don't work so well in your border. If you had a bunch to make a certain pattern, then it would be okay, but here, they look like they are really out of place. The rest is fantastic though.
Thanks for your advice! I totally agree with you about the movie scene!

Quoting Petric G. Nice Moc and cool border idea. Only the two darker border barrels are not so well placed... Good luck!
Well, they are a bit concealed by the splashing water. I thought it was kind of cool though. To me it looked like the base was getting wet where the water was spilling over.

Quoting Stephen Boe How do you have so many barrels?!? Ha, nice scene! I like the way the water spills over the base, it makes the whole scene feel a lot more splashy.
I found them at Pick-A-Brick and got a number!
