In 1946 the AMX AC tank destroyer series was introduced. The first tank seeing light in this branch was the AMX AC mle. 1946 (AMX AC 46). The AMX AC 46 was not the tank model to be developed, but it's combination of a powerful gun with excellent frontal armor, layed a good path to the next one, the AMX AC mle. 1948 (AMX AC 48), which was, very logically, made in 1948. The AMX AC 48 was fitted with a 120 mm gun. For the next project, in 1950, the French took the AC 48, took an improved version of the AC 48's gun, and set it on an AMX 50 heavy tank chassis. The AMX 50 Foch was born. The Foch had more armor, less weakspots, and more speed. Finally, in 1952, they made even more changes. The 120 mm gun was replaced by a 155 mm 3-shell auto-loader cannon, and it was fitted with a Maybach L 295 engine (but, with some research, and according to WoT Patch 8.11 the more historical accurate engine was the traditional Saurer). This made the Foch 155 a very mobile tank with an awesome cannon.
IN WORLD OF TANKS
The Foch 155 is the tier X French Tank Destroyer. The gun can do 850 (WoT 8.11: 750) damage per shell, and with the auto-loader that means 2550 (WoT 8.11: 2250) damage in 15 seconds.
It's speed is very useful, too.
So I made another tank. *Yaaaay!* Well, sort of. *ahhhh*... Just look through the pictures and learn.
The 3/4 rear view, in all it's 3/4 rear-viewness.
So to sum up, I made a very cool and promising tank. Is there a catch?
Yep. There is. Only if I ruined the whole suspension, the tracks could've been made "legit". That's so sad...
Don't worry! We are going to see another tier X tank destroyer (also with a 155 mm gun) soon!
And there it is. The tank destroyer with mighty turret armor and a heavy tank hull. The turreted end of the line of the great American names such as M18 Hellcat, T28 Prototype, and T30: Here's the T110E4!
I didn't make any chassis for this. The chassis is the whole late WWII American heavy tank chassis, also used on the T57, T110E3 and T110E5. Just the turret and little tweaks on the chassis are new.
The rear, with the little out-sticking machine gun cupola on the rear of the turret. I quite like the curve on the rear of the turret. It gives a nice overflow.
The T110E4's thing: take the turret with a pinch of salt. it has a turret but it can rotate 90 degrees to each side, instead of a full 360 degrees.
Gun elevation and depression. Just a simple design...
Also forgot a comment here :/
@sam: Thanks! Practice makes skill :) @killswitch: Luckily we have you to correct my historical info :) thanks for pointing out! @Alex: Played the T30 on the test server, used it as E 100 :) carried a game on El Halluf, *not joking* 7 kills and 10370 damage :) T110E4 is not really the tank for me I suppose, but have fun with it. And thanks! @Sven: Thanks my friend!
Nice! Especially the T110E4, which I'll soon have (50k xp on T30 to go)! The track design is great on the E4, not as much on the foch because it's a bit small. The E4 is perfect, however there's still room for improvement in your foch. Great job!
