NYPD 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor "UPDATE"
Today the Police officers Timothy Schaeffer & Christian Taylor from the 13th Precinct and the Police officers Kevin Anderson & Steven Smith from the CTTF (Citywide Traffic Task Force) recieved their new patrol cars. The brandnew 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor :) For my Lego versions i used the new Police patrol car from set 60042 which i modified in many details. Changed the front, the interior, the back and added a lot of decals :) Hope you like it.
About this creation
Added some new pics :)

Pics above: Patrol car 4894 from the CTTF

Pics above: Patrol car 4694 from the 13th Precinct

Prouldy they show their new Patrol cars ;) They are very comfortable

Some features: Federal Signal Vision SLR Led lightbar with rear mounted message board, rear dash Led lights, park distance control etc...

I used two different wheel designs for the Fords. The CTTF has the new tires with small rims, the 13th Precinct has the older standart tires with the small rims. Which design looks better in your eyes? I would prefer the first one with the new tires. Thanks for your suggestions, comments and ratings. Hope you enjoy it ;)

Btw, thank you for the inspiration @Cyberfrank ;) Had the idea right after i saw your great new police vehicles ;)

Here a pic of the real one :)

Yeah, it's okay when you use it. Don't forget, have no instructions of it but it's based on the main design of set 60042. So you can use the instruction of the set, only the modifications must be done by looking at the pics here. Good luck TJ :)

Oh Graeme my friend, sorry that i missed your comment on my NYPD creation and the question with it. I did it this way: 4 wide for cars, 5 wide for Pickups/SUV's/Transporters and 6 wide for the Firetrucks. Replied it here and on my creation ;) Sorry again.

Hello Sven I was meaning 6 wide as in body 6 wide, problem I have is I am still torn between using 4 wide for cars for my fire service or 6 wide?.

Quoting Graeme T Loving your cars Sven, I'd love to have these in 6wide.
Thank you very much my friend! I'm glad that you like them. Did you mean six wide including the wheel arches or six wide without them? I used this scale because it fits well to my six wide rigs.

Quoting Tyler Berry Where did you get the wheels!
The wheels are made with following parts: Used this tires and rims in combination with this tires which i fit on the first tire/rim combination. No 1: http://www.flickr.com/photos/notenoughbricks/3355459631/ and No 2: http://www.ibrickcity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Lego-60053-Race-Car-city-3.jpg But i'll replace my versions with the complete wheel/rim combination of set 60053 if this is available here in Germany. Another idea for wheels from AllanSmith: If you put two rims in each tire you'll get this version: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ToyKiwi/Ford-Falcon-2011/gt01.jpg Hope i could help you. :)

Quoting Lego Fire Museum Inc. Nice work. I love the front bumpers. We called them "Brooklyn Bumpers" when I was a kid. My Dad had them on our family car. They helped a lot with parallel parking.

Hey Nick, used model railroad snow powder for it. It's a special powder which can be removed easyly with a vacuum cleaner. Take a look at ths following link. But it's in German ;) http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/artikelinfo/22695-1-show-noch_pulverschnee_200g.html

Quoting cyberfrank 2010
Hey Frank my good buddy. Thank you so much for your very kind comment and your suggestions. Yeah i decided to use the new smoother tires. But still need some of them. I agree with you. It would be great when Lego designs some smoother tires for the smaller rims. But my version works very well too. If they release the new race car (Set 60053) I'll buy some of them because then i have the new tires with black rims. ;) Loool, you really should think about adding snow in your town XD. I love my town with snow. If i could i would remain it all over the year. But then i can't built anything in my town. I would love to see some selfmade decals from you on a new police unit or so. I think it would look pretty nice because youre a very talented builder. Yeah, the message board on the new lightbars is one of my favorite parts too :) You can google it. Type in "NYPD message board" and you'll see some pics of it. Can't wait whats coming next from you. Have fun my friend and see ya :)

I like the smooth tires best, the big grooves look more for a truck, I wish lego would some day release smoother tires for the smaller rims, as, all my cars seem aggressively equipped for winter and Cybercity does nt get any snow... what a cool design you made for those cars! I m happy to have inspired you, you do the same, as, those stickers make me want to make my own, I just smiled to see those on the roof saying; stand back, xd, hot stuff! the best maybe, has to be the whole scene together, the cars, snow, and city, it looks so real! what a great idea to have included a pic of the real model, at first I figured the wheels to be too big, but, when I looked at the ref pic, I could see it was accurate, as those cars have very low profile tires with mags, super job Sven!
