Just a little futuristic "H-Tank" I put together for the 15 piece vehicle challenge.
I had originally planned a more conventional tank design, but I couldn't pull off a mini scale design using less than 15 pieces. Closest I came was 18. So this was my compromise.
The general shape and function is "SCUD launcher" like. The H frame has two independent axles allowing for the front and rear treads to pivot separately. I also designed it to rise up on the treads (a technique often used in anime). The weapons can pivot vertically.
A great deal of SNOT work here, the main body is effectively built SFD (Studs facing down) while use of the Lamp Holder pieces also allowed for SOS (studs on side) addition of the t-bars and taps.
Because tanks don't normally have exposed cockpits I've not even suggested one here.
All fifteen pieces.
Animated Gif I did to show it from multiple angles.

Great job! It's definitely a challenge to build something with 4 sets of treads with only 15 pieces.
Tell me about it. My first design had 12 pieces just for the treads. Once I realised those technic pieces could be substituted for slopes and plates it was simple to slim down my ideas. I have to admit though, I have used that idea before. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/177089

Really cool! The gif is superb too!
The idea of an animated demo of the figure is growing on me, I used it ages ago for one of my Neo-Classic Space robots, but couldn't figure out how to make it play on MOCpages.
Now I know all I need to do is host it on photobucket, I may make it a feature of all new MOCs.
