MELO Round 4: J-rod Smith vs. Finn tegotash
Orthanc Bracket
About this creation
Hello everyone! This is my entry to round 4 of the MELO.

My talented opponent Finn tegotash.
And our category-“A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day!”

This is a great quote and I'm glad I got a chance to build it! For this round I decided to build the scene where they encounter The Mouth of Sauron.

And now, onto the pics.

An artistic shot.

"For Frodo."

Thanks for looking!

While there's nothing incredible about this build, there is nothing that deters me from saying well done. You have my vote. See you next round!

Haha, just noticed that Pippin fell off the horse for some of the pictures.

Impressive build! It's a close match, but since Finn's build doesn't really have to do much with LOTR at all, you got my vote!

While your build does kind of read like you've taken the existing Black Gate set and affixed it to a base, you've done a great job of creating an interesting compositional dynamic between the two sides. Finn did a great job on his build as well, but I think he could have been better served by staying within the LOTR universe. As such, you've got my vote! Best of luck with the other judges!

Very clear what I'm looking at here. Love the gate. Such a perfect representation. I also like the rock work. Such small details is what made that such a win for you. Top notch work.

Awesome! Good job recreating this scene, though micro-scale figs might've looked better since the scale seems a bit off this way. Good luck in the contest!

aside from the quality of the scene, I like the disposition of the figs, it makes me want to shout; LET HIM HAVE IT! DOWN WITH SAURON!!! xd.

Amazing! I really love that rockworck!! Good luck, man!!!

Another excellent piece Mr. Smith. It's quite accurate to the scene, as well. Although the detail that I enjoyed the most was how you kept the large dark tan area interesting. In a recent build of mine I had a similar size of dark tan, and it looks rather bland...but adding those few stones and such really help! I could certainly take note of that next I build. And just to recap, great MOC! ;)
