Minifig scale battle cruiser, the WAZP
About this creation

The concept for this battle cruiser was to give it a bug-like appearance. I only knew I succeeded in this, when I saw this silhouette!!!

These BFG's (Big Ff-ing Gun), together with the gunner's seat, are scavenged from my "Loki to Thor" project, and the only thing that is left of it: I have never finished the construction on the latter...

trusty old Blacktron minifig is gunner. Mars Mission dude was initially just a fig at hand for size, but now it wouldn't give up his place at the helm...
A tour at 0° inclination:

the difference in the upper two:
top = offense gun in battle mode, defense gun retracted, bomberbay empty, engineering-bot out.
bottom = offense gun retracted, defense gun in firing position, bomber-bot and engineering-bot docked

two full on shots
Stern center is the whack-drive; for traveling the vast distances from one star to the next. The thrusters - with vector control - will agily move it over the battlefield. On the wings two other vector control thrusters are mounted.

behind the helm is the navigator's seat

front to stern it measures ~90 studs
Now for some greebling!
the bots:

left to right; fighter-bot, bomber-bot and engineering-bot

engineering-bot docked above the whack-drive. When the ship suffers damage in combat, no one in his right mind would just pop out for a bit to patch it, hence the bot.

fighter-bot docked in the port bay. It is largely scavenged from Loki as well, but a little modded.

bomber-bot docked in the starboard bay. Easy for when you want to lay waste to a ground target, but can't be bothered to go there with the whole shebang...

The civ pod

Containing a triple foldable bunkbed (no hot bunking for my crew!), EVA jet-pack, side-arms, storage space, etc. Don't worry about the long fall down from the top bunk; no gravity, no fall!
Defense guns

on the wing tips to increase the range

stern twin gun, full swing of course

Offense weapons

those guns have a wide action radius, but the cruise mode is forfeited for structural integrity...

the aft quad-gun can be docked for cruising

and it has a wide action radius

torpedoes can be launched from underneath the wings

or retracted in cruise mode

I just named it WAZP because that's what the silhouette reminds me of, but it is not an acronym, yet... Any suggestions as to it stands for??? be creative!

Really great construction. The lighting adds a little bit to the appearance, too. You're a great inspiration to me and I might just start building more legos after looking at you creations! =] |
