Hey Garry, again i cross over this cool inside look... The front's curve is done so beautiful :-) And this is my reason, why i came back to have a look. I wanted you -the Master King of Battlestar ships- to ask if you can give me a tip how to create such a nice curve ? I work also on a bigger Battlestarship http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/392363 and i'm not sure how to do the curve... Did you use for the top also hinges like on the backunderside of the front ? which is seen very good in Picture 9 ?
@garry, If you find time trying the raider, you may look first for the black-skeletton bricks.
The updated download is the right one.
But i guess making it real will not be easy, problems will be for shure.
I would be pleased when the 'Viper' will get its 'Friend'...
God, this makes my day! I don't know what's the coolest...the engineering of the substructure, the beautiful visual rhythms and textures of the surface work, or the sheer volume of parts. It's all just mind-blowing. Looking forward to the final presentation of yet a another masterpiece. Phenomenal, Gary!
Awesome, mindblowing, ... , - even unfinished! Donīt know what to say, youīre making studio props out of LEGO. Nice to see the inside of her. Itīs always amazing to see the skeleton of such a beauty - look and learn! ;-)
So perfectly elegant. And so perfectly Cylon. Outstanding in every detail, literally. You have left nothing unfinished or lacking. That front bow is a marvel to behold and try to figure out how you managed to build the curves and hide the gaps. There is nothing on this behemoth that I like better than the rest. Truly a complete and masterful execution so far. Beyond outstanding, it's definitive!
really beautiful done Garry... I'M always impressed by your level of detail and your speed in building these big ships ! I'm on the USS Sulaco since 2 or 3 month with "only" 9600 pieces... Do you sort your bricks everytime after dismanteling the ships or do you buy new pieces ? ;-) ?
Well Garry, first i hope you have overcome your trageic eppisode, i have felt with you. I try to hold on my lego-projects, when the world seems to break down, myself...
So, this is a MASTERPIECE, and i am very pleased, that you sent us so many wip-pictures, it's amazing how 'roundness' have entered your creations in such a high level.
Most i like the coloured-spots, and the elegance, wich breath in this tanker.
If you want to make my cylon-raider real, just wait for an week, i will update the download, with new changes...
Congrates on your Tanker, so welldone!
It's great to see the guts of this up close, especially in the bow section! That area is of particular interest to me to see how you deal with all of those confounding angles. Thanks for sharing, Chief!
It's quite incredible how much detail you put into these models despite their size. I really respect that even though you've done tons of 5-10 foot ships you make no compromises on quality - this is looking absolutely amazing. Can't wait for the final post!
You are the master, Garry. Thanks for the construction breakdown. This is a beautiful SHIP. The engines are my favorite part of this one. I'm also a big fan of all those bays. Sweet work, can't wait to see the finished product in all its glory.
Agree. Great deisgn. Looks very "realistic". What about some smaller vessels for the docking bays? I think that would add a lot o life to this fantastic SHIP. And hey, what is more fun than building more space ships?
