Starship Emerita
About this creation
Deep in the unlit crannies of space, the starship Emerita drifts amongst the stars. Invisible to civilization, and missed by no one, the craft contains but one resident.

Its path has no pattern, no wont to its movements.

Long past novelty, long past obsolescence, starship Emerita is the last of an era.

Engines ignite, and the traveller departs. The hermit seeks a new home.

This is my nanoscale starship entry for round 2 of Yuri's Mociversary contest, for team Odds. Thanks to Yuri and the judges for your time.

I love the greebles on the top and the coloring. Not many ships are sporting a tan! Keep up the great work, and please check out my Acclamator Assault Ship when you get the chance. Thanks!

Nice shaping! I'd forgotten that circular 2x2 column pieces apparently come in dark tan.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Best freaking MOC in this contest so far. If everybody dropped out tomorrow, I'd be satisfied.
High praise indeed, thanks Yuri. Hopefully the coming rounds yield even better entries.

Quoting Nick Barrett Something very different, and much more brown. Best of all; not too many greebles so that we can see the shape. Nice build.
Thanks Nick, I was probably just to lazy for excessive greebles...

Quoting David Roberts The unusual colour and smooth lines rally make this ship stand out from the crowd. I like the details, such as the textured cylinders that are partly built into the top of the hull. The description is one of those nicely enigmatic stories that leaves you with more questions than it answers.
Thanks David, while a little less bodacious than your usual colour schemes it was definitely a far cry from my go-to of grey. ;)

Quoting Alex Sonny Really nice, but I didn't think it would be microscale - very awesome still, now it makes it seem like a giant starship with a single remainer or a civilisation it was transporting.
It's definitely a less orthodox shape for a micro, glad you like it.

Quoting Tim C Excellent work, Luke. I love your use of color and some well understated and effective greebling. You know that particular part of it really speaks to me;) The shaping really impresses me because you were able to make the seams so hard to notice. I've never tried to build my hulls out of bricks in that way, but it looks like that would be a difficult feat. Finally, it must be said, contest or no, it's nice to see a spaceship coming from your corner of the world. Well...one that doesn't...y'know...have an alien hanging out the side caning enemy ships;) Nice work, Luke.
Thanks Tim, always great to hear from you. No alien caning ships, eh? Who do you think the single passenger is? ;)

Quoting matt rowntRee Nice one there Luke! Great colors. Love the little backstory, more than Ender's, it reminds me of Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke. Except that this has one more passenger than that particular ship. Excellent entry and good luck! Go Odds!
Thanks Matt - I'll have to check out Rendezvous, I've not read anything by Clarke for a long time.
