Nice one sam!
About this creation

Built for sam the first's 15 piece vehicle contest.

The contest entry is the little red traction engine, the others were just me messing around...

Working steering, by the simplest means possible...

In pieces. 15 of 'em...

It probably has about 15 horsepower...

Moving on, a 1930s style streamliner.

Six of the pieces are axles and dishes for wheels, leaving not very many.

Then I found a Fabuland chassis! 6x14, with 2 axles and 4 wheels; all one piece! A minifig size car with a bit of detail is possible.

That roof is a Fabuland piece as well.

Also available as a tourer. Benny approves.

These look alright, but the chassis piece makes it too easy, perhaps.

Unicycle! Way to stretch the definition of 'vehicle'...

Parked with stand, an extra 3 pieces. The cycle itself is 15. It falls over.

I'm all set for sam's 15 thousand piece vehicle contest...

Thank you sam for this inspired challenge. It's been fun.

Quoting Scott Bertaut Nice, the unicycle is my favorite. I really like the large car with the roof too, though using parts that big is a bit unfair. If this gets nominated though it will probably be for the unicycle.
Thanks Scott. The contest entry is the red traction engine - I thought a unicycle was stretching the term 'vehicle' a bit far... You're right about the big chassis piece; it's far cleverer to use smaller pieces really well, like you did.

Quoting Senator Chinchilla . And that 15k piece car is progressing at quite a pace! In what seems like two weeks you've made more progress than I make in two months! On my own giant cars, anyway.
Really ? I always thought you made about 10 big cars to my one... :-)

he, he, fabuland, I wondered how you managed to make it so seemless, well, easy or not, it still looks fab! xd, the white car and unicycle are beautiful and original, I loved to see a space man in the old car, darth vader might have been funny too, xd.

Awww yeaaah! That tractor is classic. You actually nailed the engine for a frame look. Just like my Minneapolis/Moline icon buddy. Fifteen HP might be pushing it though. XD All of these are fantastic, I was wondering if someone was going to pull out the Fabuland chassis. They were actually pretty cool, even though it's not a SPACESHIP! (Benny rules.) As for the unicycle, pure genius. Outstanding!

The tiny tractor is so cute! Your use of old parts is really inspired. The unicycle is the next best thing (even if it falls over), and the rest are cool too but employ too many "detail boosters" (like the entire fabuland chasis). Still, the tractor and unicycle are some tough competition to everyone else, including me ;)

Wait - You KNEW about the next contest?? ;D In all seriousness, these are great entries! Also, I have one of those Fabuland chassis! Mine's yellow...and it has a broken wheels arch. (=/ Best of luck, the Minor look great!

What a lovely collection! The convertible and it's hard top counterpart are gorgeous. Love the unicycle too. Then there's the '30s streamliner as well - very slick. Oh yeah, your entry! I love how you've built that shape with so few pieces, and even though it's so small it's instantly recognisable as one of your creations. Great stuff and good luck!
  March 2, 2014
The minor looks beautiful too!

Very nice entry! I though those vintage cars were too good to be true XD Anyways, good luck, I'm sure your traction engine will do well!
