Mocathalon 2014. Team Jigsaw's Civilian Mecha.
About this creation
Team Jigsaw.

Category: Civilian Mecha.
Build us a mech and pilot for a non-military application. We love those railguns/ rocketpods/power fists too, but in a world where we could conceivably build hard-suits, exo-frames, mecha, etc. then letís assume we could find a use for them that doesnít involve blowing each other up.

Mocathalon Group Home.
________
Mega-corporations own the majority of the earth's surface, and entire continents have been turned into big box stores, leaving little room for the populations of the corrupted countries to live.
In a desolate wasteland of waxed floors, and towering shelving units, families band together in the remains of emptied cargo containers.

Amid the desolation and poverty stomps the AP 35-T Cargo Lifter, a feared monster set upon the populace, known to take well furnished homes, and replace them with containers filled with items ranging from toilet paper to frozen pizza.

The AP 35-T is piloted by three crew members, each armed with industrial strength tasers, and each with a specific role in the movement and control of the AP 35-T.

Weighing in at 64 tons, the AP 35-T has a hauling capacity of aprox. 40,000 pounds in the cargo claw, and 20,000 on upper platform.
The AP 35-T has eight hydraulic pistons, two operating each leg unit.

With the power to control major chunks of the populace under their control, the crew members of the AP 35-T became known for their smuggling runs using the large yellow machine. The most highly valued and smuggled items were carbonated beverages, as the fizzy drinks were reserved for the upper class members, rather than the families squatting in the big-box ghettos.

On occasion, the operators of the AP 35-T turned out to be not all that bad, and these few saviors of the underclass ran dangerous smuggling missions deep into the ghettos to hand out the prized fizzy beverages. These men rapidly became known as "Pop Jockeys", and tales of their bravery spread far and wide, giving hope to millions.

Standing at it's full heights, the AP 35-T towers over small apartment blocks.

Of course safety is a huge requirement for the mega corporations, since every employee injured is another piece of paperwork to fill out!

Stop signs and hazard lights are beneficial to the health and happiness of employees.

Proper name tagging and lighting rails are a must on any mega corporation owned vehicles!

Always give one of the three crew members a walkie-talkie to report back to base in case you're overrun by the desperate and hungry.

Lights! Rails! Stripes! Oh my!

Three of the most famous "Pop jockeys". Devin, Benny, and Greg.

This model is by far one of my favorite builds so far this year. The model features four pneumatic pistons that actually raise and lower the body, and four pistons that push the legs in and out. It's rather fun to play with. I'd say half the time spent building it was "testing" the functions while making loud vrooming noises.

I highly encourage everybody to check out the video of the functions! (I'm talking to you judges, you don't want to miss this.)

This is very inspiring! Lots of nice parts usages and great details in this, and it's nice to see a not militaristic style mech that's still is very high quality. Keep it up!
