How about that, my first contest entry! This is steam locomotive that is about the same scale as my Tiny Town commuter train. Both engine and coal tender are only 15 pieces!
About this creation
Conceptualization: (<- holly cow I spelled that word right!)
My first attempt at a micro steam train was long before the start of the contest. My plan was to create a steam locomotive for Tiny Town. It ended up being too big and pretty ugly to boot. After I was invited to the contest "15 Piece Vehicle Challenge" I spent a long time trying to get something to work right (15 pieces is really not that many). I tried a few micro cars like on my 2 wide A-Team van but the base alone was already 8 pieces. About a week ago I was looking at my old micro train, "what about a train!" I thought.
Rail works (building the train):
My original design was more then 15 pieces, and I really didn't like how it came out anyway. I scrapped it and began work on a new train. My original plan was to build just the locomotive but that ended up being 10 parts so I figured I might as well build the coal tender too. I would still like to use it for another micro scale train layout (maybe X-mas themed) but I'm not sure how it would actually attach to my track design.
Old Micro Train:
This is what inspired me to try and make a train for the contest, this one is OK, but my contest entry is smaller and I think it looks a lot better too.
Pictures of my contest entry:
Yep, it is only 15 pieces!
Down the track:
This may end up being used as the locomotive for another micro scale train layout like Tiny Town, but it will be far down the track. Right now my efforts are focused on building some new Minifig scale trains!

There's a glitch sometimes on the first like. My first comment didn't register a like so I came back to like it again so you would receive the like.
Oh, I see, don't think that has ever happened to me. Often times though when I submit a comment I come back later to see that it never went through. Makes it really annoying since most my comments tend to be on the long side.
