I chose to create a wave and a small part of a shore for this category.
About this creation

The two pieces used are the 2x1 plate and the 1x1 round plate.

The left side of the build.

A close-up of the wave

The back of the wave.

A more frontal view of the creation. It appears the rock on the shore has been dotted with bird guano.

This was a very fun build, and I would like to acknowledge my team-mate Matt RowntRee for issuing very helpful advice throughout the process of making this creation.

Thanks for looking!

Just like the beginning of Hawaii 5-O !

Also wanted to note that the sand actually makes the "slice of life" rather complete. I think the greatest success of it is the dark tan line denoting the wet sand, very effective. The inclusion of the rock is a nice little statement of persistence against the relentlessness life often throws your way. Including the guano. ;)

Great idea to take advantage of those piece's natural aesthetic strong points.

Really turned out great Lando! The way you got the wave to twist is mesmerizingly cool. Your choices on the colors are perfect, especially with the back of the wave and the crumbling whitewater front of the curl. Fantastic job in conveying a truly stylized vision. Did the whole team proud on this one. ;) Excellent! Go Plastic Surgeons!!!

Quoting defender of justice The wave is AMAZING, as is the water. I'll admit that the land is a bit less jaw-dropping. Maybe you could make it a bit more square, or something along those lines? The land has the feeling to me off a build without the parts you want. I remember being two rooms away from finishing a minifig scale capital ship... for two months. Then I cannibalized the parts....
That was not really the problem, I merely wished it to fit in with the pre-existing curve of the build, and have it gradually taper down towards the land end.

The wave is very well done! I must agree that the sand is not quite as good, but overall it's very nice! --Blast--

Absolutely love the wave! My only complaint would be the sand and rock. But you can't do everything with 1x2s and round studs.

In its final version I think it looks great. The sweep of the wave is very authentic. Very impressed.
