Category:How it should have ended: Show us how you think your favorite movie or story should have ended

I thought long and hard about this category, trying to pick the best movie I could to try a new ending with. I considered mainstream movies and more obscure films. I thought about pleasing everyone with my new ending or offending some with my ideas. After a few late nights, I came up with the following.

I present to you my new ending for Back to the Future III:

The original movie ends with Marty returning to the demolished DeLorean with Jennifer, his girlfriend. Moments later, Doc Brown appears with his steam-powered time machine. He wanted to assure Marty that he was alive and well, and to tell the pair that their future is not yet written. That they are free to make of it whatever they could. He leaves, en route to new adventures.

Soon after, Marty beings to miss the time-travelling lifestyle. He tracks down most of Doc Brown’s original information and studies it for hours. He looks into further research and journals about the subject, hoping to find a way to first replicate Doc’s work, and then improve upon it.

Marty enrolls at MIT where he designs his own program. He spends the next few years rebuilding the flux capacitor, then using the technology to enhance further travel possibilities. He earns a doctorate for his work, graduating with high honours.

Doctor McFly spend the next few years constructing his time vessel, gathering the parts needed and adding minute details. Besides adding power to the time-engine or ‘heart’ of his machine, he increases the carrying capacity and comfort level of the vehicle by expanding it from the original car design to more of a floating room due to his discovery of square-footage scale initiatives.

Now going by the name ‘Doctor’ as an homage to his mentor and friend ‘Doc’, Marty readies himself to take his time-and-space travelling vehicle for its maiden voyage.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been getting into Doctor Who. The idea of marrying that show with my long admiration for the BTTF franchise made a great deal of sense. Plus, it has now answered the most important question: Doctor Who? Doctor McFly!

Thanks for viewing!

Okay, now that is just pure genius right there! What a clever idea, and sure to infuriate some hardcore Who aficionados, only because NO ONE calls Dr. Who a chicken. XD Great builds with a fully realized story. Excellent!
