About this creation
2014 Mocathalon

For My machine I decided to make it a classic space theme. Unfortunately I feel as though I focused too much on quality and not enough on function, considering how short it actually goes when it runs. Anyways, the final result is a pretzel is dispensed for the space man at the pretzel vending machine. Check out the video below to see it in action and feel free to give me some feedback!

Thanks for viewing!

Nice work on this category! I think it is an overlooked one, and I really liked how you picked a theme for it. Just a few comments: as you said, I often think of the purpose of a Rube Goldberg Machine to be a very long and complicated, often not pretty, project to do something that would be much easier done without a machine. Not that making it pretty is bad, but as you also mentioned, it would have been a bit better to make it longer and include more functions in this creation. But good work! I would probably never try my hand at this kind of thing since it is difficult to pull off, and I'm impressed that you did. Rating: 4.2ish

Well done! I like the uniqueness of how you made things happen (especially the sail to direct the ball). I also like the polished look.

Quoting Chris Phipson As far as R.G. machines go, it was in the three range. The "polishing off" of the build itself raised it up. Score of 4 ~ Chris.
I would agree, it lacked complexity and length that is usually characteristic of these machines. Thanks for the feedback.

Score = 4. More functions would have raised your score, but still, fantastic work!

Love the details in the machine and the functions look great. A pretzel spitting machine can't be anything but good anyway. :) Score: 4

Super cool Ben! All your hard work paid off in what looked to be a very difficult catagory. Works perfectly and looks great too. Best of luck with the judges! :)

I like that you added a theme. It makes your entry unique, especially like with what El Barto said, since it is minifig scaled. You may get all the points, or at least I would give you all teh points. I love some of the other entries but they don't hold up to the style of yours. I think it was a smart move. And plus, the goal was to get a pretzel, that's new and exciting in my opinion.

Cool build! So many of these are at a large scale, it's nice to see a minifig sized one. Good luck!

Most unique entry I've ever seen for this category over the years.
