Pure theory exorcise in what happens when scavenged X-wing engines get shoehorned into a snowspeeder. A bit over the top I think, but great fun to build.

Ok, So again, I had this huge box of white parts, and a few of these white parts were those great X-wing engines, so I just kept looking at them and considering how to make this work. Finally I just sat down and started throwing these wings together. After I while I had a rough idea of what it was going to look like. Only moderatley pleased with that but I could see how it had merit, so I rip it apart and start all over again. Lather, rinse, repeat about 5 or 6 times. After that the Chassis needed rather extreme modification to go with the concept, so that got just as much attention.
The end result is this. It's a concept ship based on taking a scavenged pair of engines from a defunct X-wing and cramming them onto a T-47 chassis.
End result requires just about everything to be highly modified, especially since I decided to keep and re-route the original snowspeeder engines to run parallel to the X-wing engines, just closer inside. Add a few surprises in the mix (more on that later) and it's a pretty swell lil' ship I think.
Just a head on shot. A little annoyed with my camera's forshortening, but what can you do. First thing to notice of course is the oversized engines.
View from the bottom, not much differnet here, so we'll move right on. Again, notice the borrowed nose stylings. thanks to whomever it was that came up with this.
Closer forward shot of the engines with the flaps up. gotta love those flaps. Notice the white engine intakes. These are not actually related to the scavenged X-Wing engines at all, but instead the re-routed and modifed snowspeeder engines.

Detail on the back end. I really like the exhuast port for the snowspeeder engines as well, almost more than the X-wing exhaust port right next to it. This is about the 6th revision of snowspeeder exhaust port, and I think I finally have it right.

Closeup of the engine from the front. also, walkie talkie action in front. Not sure what it's for, but this thing was supposed to be bristling with antennae and cameras, so this is a somewhat lame attempt at that.

Shot of the cockpit interior. In order to open the cockpit, the back armor panel must also be tilted up. I actually like this as it provides a nice visual effect. More on this later. notice the pilot's targetting display. Also, it bugged me that there was no flight control stick, so I tossed one in.

Yeah, I did. I crammed an R2 in here. I figured that seeing as how with the new engines, pressurized cabin with life support, as well as other modifications, and Astromech really needed to be in place to control some of the more sensitive equipment. 
The Astromech armor panel fully closes. From within, the R2 can handle all normal astromech functions, routing extra power to engines, guns, etc.
