After building the LEGO Fire Brigade Modular we knew we needed a Police station for our LEGO city. We searched online and found a few awesome builds, jaskaare built one we loved. Doing my best I tried several times to build a modified version of his build but in the end I wanted classic blue and white and so this set was born.
The design is from a video game called CityVille, though we've never played it, the station looked great see Photo's on flikr of set from the game.
EDIT: I most recently shortened the top tower as I felt it was a little tall, the top photo now is of the shorter version. My son plays with this a lot so the minifigs and a few of the other nice details have gone missing in the next photo which was taken after shortening the tower.
About this creation
You can see one of the crooks scoping out the surveillance system. This little corner vender is on Click City's must eat menu, the food is fantastic but the prices are almost criminal.
To keep in sync with the current "breakout theme" the front windows pull out but attaching a hook and driving away in your get-away car. This gives access to the Chief's office and the holding cells.
There's a bathroom, crime lab, lobby and more inside - though I'm still working on tiling it all and re-arranging the furniture in the main work area up the stairs on the second floor.
The vehicles the fist is the actual LEGO set prisoner transport, my 4 year old son bought it with his own money which he saved up, from there we decided we needed a police station in similar colors. The squad car was nothing special just a throw together. And the helicopter is inspired by the slick helicopter in set 60009.
The corvette is modeled after Clemens Schneider's car. He only did a rendering of it but it was so awesome we've now built 3 variations of it. Awesome car Clemens!
