More than meets the eye...
About this creation
 photo boatytransform.gifLink

Believe it or not but this took less than 20 minutes to put together. The basic frame is a slightly more basic version of the one I used for Ratchet.

The idea of a "Boatformer" has been knocking about in my head for a long time. But the perfectionist in me didn't want to share something that looked more like a space ship than a ship ship...

Of course there are gaps to accommodate the transformation, and from the wrong angle the head is clearly visible in boat mode, but overall I think it isn't too bad.

I may look to see if there are some Hasbro or Bandai boat-bots out there that I could mod this into, but at the moment I've done no research on the subject.

Suggestions, critiques, comments and ideas are always welcome. Vote if you like and please do not spam.

I did a little research earlier of "boatbots" but while I was editing the list or links my laptop died and I lost it all. Not willing to repeat the whole process again I can confirm that he does bear a vague similarity to the robot form of the pretender Splashdown and to a japanese exclusive figure Waver. So for now he's been rechristened "My own" Splashdown.

Quoting Bumblebee5253 . Awesome!!! I've been thinking about this idea aswell, but it seemed really hard :P. Nice job!
Thanks for the support BB5253, I only make it look easy because I've been using LDD nearly every day for 7 years. When I first started, something like this would have been impossible.

Quoting That guy you saw earlier Neat! Looks great in both forms!
Thanks. For the scale I was a little worried people might not see that it was a boat, the upper deck is very stylised, but having said that, I've seen Creator designs that were less detailed with more bricks.

Quoting Stephan N The transformation is great.
Thanks Stephan, I try to make sure all my Transformers do transform without cheating, so it's appreciated when people notice.

Thanks everyone, I'll get around to thanking individuals later. I just wanted to point out to anyone who missed it that I've now added a little animated gif to demonstrate the transformation in action.
