Wow, finally a build having to do with something relative to Drazards Story! :O
About this creation
The Lands of Mythron
My first freebuild for the month of April. (A prelude to my rank challenge)
One Month Before the Assassination of King Rowan
"As the Tourney came to a close, travelers started breaking their camps, and we saw less and less of King Rowan, who had been at every banquet and tournament and even since the Tourney started. In truth, he was still making preparations for his departure. They had been planning and waiting for people to start thinking maybe the King had gone to his throne in the Capital City."
Darvainian: "Rowan, I have sent word to my kin near here, and they would be happy to shadow you in your Journey back to Reedus, should any trouble arise."
Kings Guard: "They'll do no such thing, Nerogian!"
Darvainian:"Captain, I assure you, were Nerogue an enemy to Mythron we would have shown it long ago. Besides, with all the Black Lotus crawling about, I think the extra precaution is necessary."
Kings Guard: "And have you pointy eared Nerogians slit his throat on the road? I'll have none of it!"
King Rowan: "Captain, control yourself! I'll have no bloodshed in my court.
Kings Guard: "But my lord, this traitor probably kille-"
King Rowan: "And I won't listen to that blasphemy!"
King Rowan: "I don't care what people say, Darvainian was a good friend of my fathers, and I know now, without a doubt, that he wasn't responsible for his death. Whatev-"
Mullroy: "MY LIEGE!!"
*The old man bowed to his king*
Mullroy: "My liege, forgive this intrusion."
King Rowan: "Speak your business, Mullroy."
Mullroy: "The treasury, sire! Orcs! I tried to stop them, sire, But they just wouldn't stop!"
King Rowan: "What? Speak sense man!" *Darvainian whispers something to his troop*
Mullroy: "They came like a hurricane, sire! How they surpassed the guards, I do not know! Oh, for woe!!!!"
Mullroy: "They killed them, sire, they killed the guards! And what they took- oh, for woe!! Everything!"
King Rowan: "WHAT?!"
Mullroy: "I've told you sire, everything! The jewels, the gold- oh, for woe!"
King Rowan: "WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP THEM YOU IMBECILE? YOU BLUNDERING OAF OF AN OLD MAN?!"
Mullroy: "Please sire, have mercy!! I have barely escaped to tell you! But your majesty, there is more!!"
King Rowan: "I'm sorry, Mullroy, I lost myself. Tell me, what else?"
Mullroy: "Your highness - oh, for woe!! - they've taken Murtogg!!"
"This, was when I came onto the scene."
"I bowed humbly to king Rowan before addressing Darvainian."
Drazard: "Darvainian, you summoned me?
Darvainian: "Ah, there you are Drazard. I wonder, do you have time for a certain, uh, task?"
Fourth Plate: Wait what?? I'm doing this thing?! Welll there's something new under the sun... ...I started this build feeling it was going to be plain and horrible, but it really turned out...Decent! I'm fairly pleased. I was also happy to finally get started on something that wasn't for a contest, just pure fun. Also the story is one of my best additions in a while, I think. Anywho - please let me know what you think of the build/story - I can only improve if I know what's wrong! ;) ~David.
I think I agree with Kai, the amount of texturing is fine, but the colors don't look right for a throne room. It should be have more ornate architecture rather than just a few arches. Also, there's no need to show the outside if it's just a plain box - too many photos can be a detractor. That being said, that throne is quite nice.
I think the throne room is excellent! It has bright, colorful stained glass and the bright blue throne to show that it's in a southern city, but the walls balance out the colors. Sometimes, a wall needs to be super-textured, but I think this time a smooth wall works fine. @Brick: Since they canceled the maid service.
You're right, this turned out decent...but only barely so. :P The architecture is nice, as are the stained-glass windows, but for a throne room it looks awfully grey and dreary. :P The story is alright, but I'm not really liking how the king was depicted. It's not as bad as in Freeling's Regicide moc (and now I must brace myself for the inevitable rants from him for speaking such blasphemy), but this is the good king Rowan we're talking about. He's a bit more...civil, as I assume are his guards.
