G.A.R.C. Frisby
Llwyngwril Space Systems' second entry into Galactic Asteroid Race Circuit was the highly successful "Frisby".
About this creation

This ship proved controversial with race fans, due to its unusual shape. Many people thought that the saucer shape had not been used for any good engineering reasons. They speculated that it had been chosen solely to provide the sponsors with a large, smooth area on which their logos could be painted. Llwyngwril Space Systems consistently denied this and won a liable action against the Comet & Asteroid Racing Press, which caused this centuries old publisher to become bankrupt, six months later.

Strangely, most of the sponsors for this ship came from the ancient sport of skiing, which had not been practiced for centuries, due to global warming melting all of the snow on Earth. It was never clear how Llwyngwril Systems made any money from being sponsored by extinct companies.

Swooshing is compulsory for GARC racers: brilliant!

The radar dish is attached using Tim C's technique from this SHIP. The idea for using a Mega Bloks sticker is Genghis Don's, on his Garc 004 - I love it!

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 great shape, and the sponsors s stickers give it a beautiful and distinctive look! I laughed when I saw the mb sticker!
Thank you! I'm afraid that the Mega Bloks sticker idea wasn't mine: there are a few other GARC racers in the Flickr pool with MB stickers too.

Quoting Topsy Creatori (StoveTopCreator!) I think I received a reminder! Yes, David I did see this when it first was posted, I sometimes do not comment if I am viewing from my pad and I do so later at my desktop... sometimes I even forget! What stuck me about this was that it really appears to be larger than it is! Could that be the circular design? Anyhoo, fun design and sticker ideas! :)
Sorry, I was looking for a comment I'd made on somebody else's MOC and spotted that I'd comment but not put a smiley on your latest build and some other people's too. They seem to vanish sometimes if I edit the comment. I think that this looks bigger because I managed to photo it very close up, plus the writing on some of the stickers is very small. I didn't think that it would print out properly and was quite surprised when it did!

Quoting Stuart Lucas Stickers ahoy! Mega Bloks eh? One does wonder how they make money from extinct companies.... Nice job as ever!
Mega Bloks appropriately applied to the back bottom of the ship :)

Quoting David Alexander Smith How many stickers?
Twenty! Ten on top and 10 underneath. All lovingly hand cut with my nail scissors and manoeuvred onto the MOC with tweezers. Some ships in the Flickr GARC group have even tinier stickers on them. It's all part of the fun, though I'm not sure which was trickier: doing the physical stickers or Photosopping them onto my LDD GARC MOC.

awesome, at first glance, I thought the ship is larger. But where you keep the ship in hand do I see how big it really is. I like the many greebles and the great stickers. The colors are taken out very great.

Awesome racer! I really like how you put those containers to use . Love the cool detailing in the front, and the radar dish. I through all mine in a box years ago , but I might just dig them out and tinker.

Quoting matt rowntRee Mega Bloks FTW! That's hilarious. Love the frisby shape as well as the little bits poking out here and there. Especially the grey doors for wings. Looks like it can take a few asteroid hits in the race and still finish well. Excellent!
Thanks! The grey doors are from the LL-918 that I got for my 7th birthday in 1979 and I've been building spaceships ever since...

Quoting Tris B Sponsored by salomon eh? Anybody would think you had a job as a ski instructor. ;-) Tis is lovely little disc, have you been tempted to skim it? The brazen logos give it an 80s feel.
Skim it? No! I think that skimming it would cause it to fall to pieces faster than an eight year old ripping a Lego town apart. Oh, and the ink on the stickers is water soluble :)

Quoting Starscream Soundwave By far the coolest GARC ever made. Great usage of the X-Pod parts, which incidentally I have always thought of as useless... Glad to be proven wrong! Great stuff David.
Thank you! The X-pods are probably pretty useless for building cars though...

very nice, the disk shape sure is unusual, and the stickers really do give it a racing feel (and a scent of money ;)
