Caterpillar Tipper developed after I saw one along the street lately
About this creation
The main picture shows my version 2. Due to size of this model and the fact that I want to have it chosen via Lego Ideas I had to reduce the amount of pieces. Besides that the tipper was to high above the track. In this new version I lowered the tipper 'one click' and moved the wheel to operate to the front which improved the access a lot. To me it is much more in balance. I also made building instructions available here.
Lately I ran into a caterpillar tipper. It is like a snowplower with a tipper. It took me several rounds to get it in this small size and still a working tipper.
The tipper you can handle through the knob on the right front side.
In general the setup of these vehicles is a bit strange, the cabin seems too big and the tracks too much to the back of the vehicle. However this is correct when you look at originals. The engine part is a but off center and besides that a low part with a little fence which I tried to mimic.
All in all it was a challenge to keep it in this size. I took one of the existing Lego smaller sets like the set 9391 as example. My moc became a bit bigger with twice as much as parts as this 9391 set which I used as an example.
