SWO R1: Nothing to Catch You Category 3
My entry into Round 1 of the Star Wars Olympics, in category 3.
About this creation
Star Wars Olympics
I chose category three, which requires you to build a scene from the 2003 Clone Wars. You can see the scene I chose here (the scene starts at 0:39 and ends at 1:02).

The fight

General Grievous in the build

An unlucky clone

The Senate Commando

Some crates I made. They're not in the scene I chose, but I thought I should add something since I couldn't do more clones (lack of Phase II helmets), and because the background is pretty plain and simple.

No figures. In my opinion, this is my best broken window.

General Grievous. I decided not to use the official version because of the limited mobility, but I think this version's torso is a bit to small. I might make another version of him later.

A closer look at the crates.

Very simple, yet you captured the feel of the fight very well. The floor is excellently tiled, and the window is quite nice. That, along with the fact that the border of your base is beautiful, earns you a score of 11. Nice job!

Quoting Halhi 141 Build: 6 (sorry, aside from the window it's basically figs on a plate), other: 3 (background color doesn't work well here with the tan floor, but there's some decent innovation with the crate designs and Grevious torso) Total: 9
It's fine, I totally agree, the build is very simple.

wow! you captured the scene really well! those old clone wars were so awesome! its too bad you only have on phase II helmet, it would have been awesome to have had tons of clones getting slashed up.

Color me impressed. I had to look quite hard to see that the clone trooper was connected to the window, which looks really great. I'm also very impressed with the floor. The fact that you used SNOTted plates instead of SNOTted bricks really gives the floor great texture and character. 5/5 and good luck in the contest.

Quoting Graeme Straughn Wow! Very nice! I LOVED that series when I was like 8 - 10. :D Wow, great rendition. The window is a bit weird (But this is LEGO's fault) cuz you can see the brick and it doesn't look very "See-though" but there was nothing you could have done better... Great crates too!
Thanks man!

Quoting Commander Spencer Pretty sweet. Definitely one of my favorite scenes from CW. However, I think it would've been better if you used the most recent white Grievous, as he was white in this series. Anyways, it's a pretty sweet build.
Thanks! I agree, but I don't own that figure, so that would have been impossible.

Quoting MCLegoboy ! Yeah! First entry, whoopwhoooop! Now this is the category I can get behind, too. The Gendy Tartakovsky Clone Wars was perfect in its storytelling and its action. While it did stress Jedi strength, it gave Grievous some great character that was seriously destroyed in Dave Filoni's. I love the scene you chose. Grievous is just a straight up badazz cutting up every clone in his path to the Chancellor. There's even a chainsaw noise when we are waiting for the elevator to come! :D Now, time to get serious. I like the snot work for the floor and border and that window is nice. You grievous looks nice, and while I would have preferred a white version with a white and red cape, everyone has their limitations with their collection. I also would have liked to see more clones for Grevious to be slashing and a wall or something more to the room. I give 11 points.
Thanks man! :D I agree, a white General Grievous would have been better for a scene, but that would have been extremely hard for me. More clones would have been good too, but as I said, I only have this Phase II helmet (technically I have Captain Rex's Phase II, but that doesn't work here). I thought about sticking more clones and having them were Phase I helmets, but I decided that accuracy might be better in this case.
