Japanese Fortress Playset MOC
A lego playset I made several years ago for my samurai/ninja lego figures. There are open places to easily place figures inside (such as the dojo and the shrine).
About this creation

One of the side views of the Japanese fortress. Certain walls are removed on the lowest and uppermost floors to reveal interiors with a dojo and a shrine.

The Dojo, where the red ninjas compete to earn praise from their trainer.

From the tree-top post, the lookout watches for enemy ninjas who might try to sneak into the castle.

He has one eye, so his depth perception's not all that good.

The main entrance to the fortress.

The uppermost rooftop.

The shape of the middle tier.

The shape of the lowest tier.

The secret entrance (or exit) from the fortress. When down, the door is undetectable. Undetectable!

The shrine. The master of the fortress is preparing to light the incense.

Close-up of the shrine.

The store room where all the fortress goods are kept. Very well guarded.

The tree that grows up alongside the fortress wall.

The base of the tree. Who is hiding in there?

A ninja? Well, I'm sure he only has the best intentions.

The ninja finds the only way to the upper levels of the fortress.

Will the master survive the sneak attack? I'll leave the rest of the story to your imagination.

Quoting Professor Scientifik what are the red pieces on the roof? Like the red curvy ones? And where did you get them?
The red curves are from the old Fright Knight sets I believe. A tough set of pieces to find a use for.

I've been looking everywhere for old-time japanese architecture. Especially the roof design. You got it perfectly! I have a question though; what are the red pieces on the roof? Like the red curvy ones? And where did you get them?

Nice. You should add more rooms like bedrooms, armory, and so on.

That thing is awesome. I love the attention to detail. The Buddhist shrine and the dojo are nice touches. I also like the one-eyed guard.

Wow. Brilliance! I've never seen any (good) feudal-era lego mocs. The only official sets anywhere distantly related to this that I've ever seen is that "Jonny Thunder: Emperor's Castle" thing. 5

It could use some landscaping instead of those panels at the bottom. I especially like the tree though.

This is great! A cool looking building outside, great details inside. The dojo looks particularly good. The Ninja line disappeared all too quickly -- hey Lego Group, you've brought back Castle, how about doing the same for Ninjas?

Beautiful design - far too many elements for me to single out for comment. Lee.

At first glance I wasn't all that impressed, but the amount of detail you crammed in there is amazing! I like the walls of the Dojo. You really should have more samurai, as the ninja's were a type of elite corp samurai trained in espionage and assasination (like the one sneaking up on the Daimyo, who by the way, hears a slight scuff on the stone floor, and whirling about, whips his katana from his side and delivers a lethal upper-cut to his opponent;-), while the samurai formed the rest of the military nobility. Then again they aren't quite so exiting. Nice work! -- -- Michael

verry kool! The grampa ninja is totally going to kick the bad ninja's but! U can tell by that blank look in his eye that he knows someone is behind him. besides, why else would he have a sword with him?
