Dragon Training Arena
It's only fun if you get a scar out of it..
About this creation

Seen from the Dreamworks film "How to Train your Dragon" is a small cutout of the massive dragon arena where vikings used to train and fight against dragons, where Astrid is squaring off against the Deadly Nadder.

This was built back a while ago, but I forgot to upload it to Mocpages.

Look for it's blind spot. Every dragon's got one. Hide in it, and strike!

This is an updated version of my previous Nadder, where he's been completely re-made and fitted close to minifig scale.

The dragon also features my newest wing technique (which I think looks so much better), which uses minifig capes (the yellow ones were especially pricey) as the dragon's membrane.

A bonus shot of the Nadder and Toothless, plus the Gronckle!

In a few days I'll post a group shot of all my updated dragons, including the Nightmare and Zippleback from Flickr. Httyd 2 is in less than a week!!!

The dragon is cool but the arena is outstanding to my eyes. I can imagine a thousand stories and battles going on there. Grats!

This is really incredible. The wing technique is such a huge feat... I'm really a little speechless. I love the updated Nadder, and I'd really like to see some closer shots of your Toothless (because who doesn't love Toothless?). The arena itself and your new Astrid minifigure are also superb. Man, the varying techniques you used to make the arena appear smooth while still giving it the rocky, cracked look is really amazing. Over all this is yet another fantastic HTTYD moc, and I love seeing this film put into brick form in usch an artistic and talented fashion!

Quoting eli olsen realy cool, so detailed. by the way, have you tried making your own lego capes using scizzors and colored paper?
I have tried using bits of cloth for the dragon's wings, but I feel that it doesn't work for me or my building style. I guess I'm just a purist :)

Quoting Topsy Creatori Great treat to see a dragon vig from you! My memory is telling me it's been a while since we have all seen one?! Nice new wing technique, on this guy! :)
It has been a long time I've built anything, and I do have a lot that I want to build but I feel that I'm running out of time due to life and something called "responsibilities". I don't know when but I'm pretty certain this'll be my last year building full time with Lego. So that is why I'm taking up building dragons again, especially with Httyd 2 coming out.

The new gronkle is astounding! Can't say as muh for the madder though. The body is great, but the old head design was a bit more recognizable. But that's just me. Bravo!
