NLO Round 3: Legomania . vs. Nathan Pownell: Decisions
I had the category "The Table of Aslan": Build a scene from the 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader' that takes place at the Table of Aslan. I chose the scene where Caspian has told the sailors that they are going to the end of the world. He is leaving the decision of who will come with them to Drinian. The reason that there is no food on Aslan's Table is because the birds had already eaten it (AKA my excuse for not having enough food to make it look good :P).
About this creation
An entry into the Narnian Lego Olympics, were my opponent is Nathan Pownell. See his entry here.

I based my entry pretty much all off of the book, as I only saw the movie on Thursday. The walkway was based off the movie, but everything else was from the book. I'm pretty pleased with how the whole thing came out, but I feel like I could have done better. Very pleased with how the columns came out, though.

Looking down Aslan's Table.

Caspian, Edmund, and Lucy talking.

Two sailors having a conversation.

Lucy

No minifigures.

Without the vegetation. Most of the pictures will be taken without the grass, because I want you to focus on the other stuff.

Caspian.

Edmund.

A sailor.

One of the sailors.

Another view of the sailors conversation.

One of the three lords.

The second lord.

The third lord.

The columns.

Aslan's Table, with nothing around it.

The entryway to Aslan's Table. I made some stairs here. I used this technique to achieve an offset.

This shows the walkway better than the last photo.

Looking down Aslan's Table with no minifigures.

No minifigures, as well as no vegetation.

From left to right, Caspian, Edmund, and Lucy.

Some of the sailors.

The three lords. I wish I had more beards, because these guys don't look very good.

Nice SNOT floor! Cool pillars as well.

Quoting Kai Bernstein Yes, I am. And as soon as I realized that I asked Thomas if I should revoke my vote. He said it was fine. However, if you have a problem with the wrong judge voting you are certainly allowed to request that my vote be discounted. After all, I technically shouldn't have voted in the first place. :P And I don't think the build is plain; my voting comment was not sugarcoated at all. :P
No, it's fine, I just wanted to know what was happening. I think my build still looks plain. I knew that when I posted it, I just couldn't think of anything to add.
Quoting Thomas B. Just to clarify it, the reason i let Kai keep his vote is because he can't judge his bracket, as the person who posted has received a free due to no entry from his opponent. Also the judges in this bracket besides myself have gone inactive, and I am still getting replacements for them. Doing this will speed up things so we can get to the final round without waiting for inactive judges to judge.
Okay, thanks for clearing this up. Thanks for hosting the contest, hopefully I'll do better next time!

Quoting Kai Bernstein While I really like this build - the ground layering is awesome and looks great with the plants, and the general design and techniques are really nice - I feel the overall look of your opponent's entry has a little more power to it. He gets my vote, but know that it really was a close match.
Aren't you supposed to judge the other bracket, though? It says that the judges for Nathan and me would be Thomas B., Ian ..., and J-rod Smith. Anyway, thanks for the comment. Thanks! I agree, mine just looks plain.

Quoting Thomas B. To start, I really like the SNOT used for the floor. The pillars are also very good. The minifigs are excellent, yes, the lords look a bit odd, but I understand you didn't have the beards. I do agree with you that you could have done better. The whole build in general seems a bit bland, though I give you credit, as you did base this mostly off the book which is always hard to do. For me, I just think there's not much to your build. Your opponent's build has a lot more to it, is a more colorful, and it just seems like he spent more time on his than did you. That said my vote go's to your opponent. Good luck with the other judges!
Thanks. I agree, this is pretty bland.

Very cool scene. It's been a long time since I read the book. The columns are especially cool, and I dig all of the foliage as well. Good luck in the competition!

Nice work man! That SNOT is great so are the minifigs... However as said before, Nathan's build was just SUPER good and yours was good but his was just amazing. I REALLY like your sand and minifigs though. :) Nice work man!

Quoting Nathan Pownell Good job! I like the really uneven irregular base. The Table is pretty cool, and the foliage is awesome! The only thing I don't like about it is that the table doesn't have too much food and the minifigs aren't spectacular. (I understand the minifig thing, though… :) I guess we both feel the same about our models: We feel that we could've done better! Good luck!
Thanks man! Good luck to you too. I chose a scene that didn't need the food. That's why there isn't any. If I had included food there wouldn't have been much, so I thought this would look better.
