At Fuyorai Air&Space Field, numerous Aurelian cargo flights have been landing WITH ‘genetic’ waste & taking off WITH ‘Ice Cream Sprinkles’, WITHOUT refueling???
About this creation
Now, we know from my last episode that the ‘Ice Cream Sprinkles’ are really ‘special’ mushroom M&M’s produced on Fuyorai by a joint Havana Aurelii & Dame Darlka M3D (Monastic Disorder of Delightful Dance, in case you forgot!) Marauder venture. We also know that production of M&M’s is a lucrative operation and M&M’s are in ever increasing demand.
But…
All these increases have resulted in simultaneous increases in fibrous plant waste from both the ‘Special’ Mushroom Mine and the PawPaw Plantation production operations. So why are cargo flights bringing in even MORE WASTE?! Could it be some kind of Sinister Galactic Imperium plot against these 2 strong allied factions of The Insurgency?

Nah… it’s all about… Dame Darkla… Dr. Darkla, PhD., overseeing chemical stuff!

DID you see all the chemical stuff on the lab bench?
Wasn’t it colorful & cool boys & girls?!

And yes, you’ve probably already guessed that the great systems managerial mind of Dame Darkla has, once again, devised another ingenious, money-saving, integrated production operation! Using her superior knowledge of chemistry, she has developed a production process for refining organic waste into ethanol based on a relatively simple organic chemistry reaction!

The Reaction/Refining Tanks

Did you happen to notice the gold tubing? It’s unreactive… only the best for Darkla!
The tanks contain sophisticated filtering systems in addition to, reaction chambers!
And check out that neon green glowing ground-up plant waste slurry on the right!

Okay, so, what’s the big deal about ethanol from organic plant waste! Well, here’s the ingenious part… the ethanol is being processed into a hybrid gelled semi-solid space fuel (think of canned Sterno!) for the Aurelian cargo ships! No sense lining the pockets of any other greedy space fuel supplier when you can make space fuel yourself!

But, wait… you don’t want to miss the… TAH, DAH…

Fibrous Plant Waste Shredder!

And, of course, you really need to see the Big Picture!

OK, boys & girls & other interested parties…

All the colorful stuff on that lab bench was not just eye-candy for the camera! It’s meant to be a visual aide demonstrating how Dr. Darkla, PhD., has ingeniously developed a process by which the ethanol hybrid pre-gel intermediates change color as they progress towards the final gelled product… space fuel!
#2 Something is funny about those worker dudes, all 3 of them look identical! I have a funny feeling that they may be somehow tied into the mysterious ‘genetic’ waste that is being shipped into Fuyorai. Just what IS Darkla up to?

BTW, boys and girls… when I taught high school chemistry, I had a fun little lab that I used to do with my students. We made what was essentially… canned ‘Sterno’! As you can well imagine, the students loved this lab, as they all got to ignite their ‘Sterno’ and watch the FIRE! He, he, he!
#2 I made a little video of the shredder gears moving, but I had trouble with the focusing and, well… it really was juvenile. I was too ashamed to post it! But if anyone really wants to see it, for a good laugh, I might be inclined to post it. Let me know. I'll place the link here. :)

Quoting Builder Allan Nice! A well-planned and well-built laboratory. Very nicely detailed and quite colorful :-) I like that tree-shredder and the lab window row. i like the three clones and those thingies behind the glass too.
Hey thanks, tried to put a bit of logical order into this silly nonsense of a build! :)

Quoting David Alexander Smith I could spend hours staring through the window into your strange beautiful mad clever world. After a couple of week s having life kick you in the shins it is wonderful to find imagination overflowing all over MOCpages.
Take care David! I'll be thinking positively about you, so that some of those plus vibrations flow your way! :)

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 I d like to see this video, I suspect it s quite funny, xd, great set up and design Topsy, brilliant scene!
Thanks Frank! Oh the video is only funny in that I was actually considering posting it! :)

Hey thanks David, no super duper mechanics like in your builds, but the gears rotate! :)

Quoting clayton Marchetti Emmmm Slurry. Love the setup ,wast not want not. It's kind of funny. While I was in Tennessee we visited Bush's bean factory, and they did the same thing. Found uses for all the leftovers. I'll bet baked beans refried and fermented might be the best fuel known to man :-) what a blast! . Darkla's pretty ingenious. Can't wait to see what she cooks up next. Now for some reason I'm hungry for some barbecue.
Ha, ha! Talking about beans, I recently was in the SF bay area, and would have liked to have gone for a tour of the Jelly Belly plant. But it was the weekend and my understanding was that they only have the tours on weekdays, only a film on the weekends... ah beans! Perhaps Darkla should go into the fuel fro beans business too?! :)

Quoting Andy Price Ha! A most amusing and whimsical scene! Great use of trans colours, especially of the bright trans-green! And the backstory just adds depth to this already delightful creation.
Hey, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, that trans-bright green is a color I am going to have to obatain more of! :)

Quoting Stephan N great stuff, just great :) I like your many details, very creative.
Thanks, I tried to pack in all the operations into 1 build which was the most time consuming part of the build. :)

Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head Pretty twisted and wonderful, as usual. There's obviously a lot going in Darkla's schemes. Can't wait to see more.
Darkla is some kinda lady, ha, ha! You won't have to wait too long for her "Big Secret" Project post, so stay tuned in to this channel! :)

Quoting Dr. Monster Cool set up. I really like Dr. Darkla's lab section. If things don't work out with Princess Soldier maybe Dr. Monster could give her a call sometime?
Ha, ha! Yah know, your comment did give me an idea for a small free build for the TI. Darkla currently has no love interests, but she could be attracted to Dr. Monster's intelligence! Let me cogitate for a bit about the possiblility of adding a new twist to the story. Right now Darkla is busy with her "Big Secret" Project! Stay tuned! :)

Quoting matt rowntRee My favorite part of chemistry was when our teacher got in trouble for throwing a chunk of sodium metal into the pool. Boom fun! Swim coach didn't think so, he thought the pool was ruined. dweeb. Great little chemistry set you have there and I am especially intrigued by your tree grinder. Grind fun! XD Looks like Darkla's plans are unfolding splendidly, now if she can get this awful ethanol out of our gas, I, as someone who repairs the damage and stank it causes, would be really appreciative. Thanks in advance. XD Awesome lab Topsy!
Smart teacher, good way to get rid of any excess Na metal one has lying around in the old chem stock room! Ha, ha! I think I know your area of work is with metals? So I'm thinking by gas you mean acetylene? I know it can be produced from several alcohols, but I don't know much about comercial production operations? I was hoping you would do a page on your Odyssey ships here so I could ask you about the stitching of the sails. Was that you or the wifey helping out? The geometry of quilting fascinates me, but I don't think I would have the patience for the sewing part. :)

Ha, ha... well I don't really have the indepth clues on mechanics either! All I remember from Mechanics 101 calculations is that the sum of the forces is equal to zero! ;)
