"It is Precious to Me"
In celebration of passing the 2000 members milestone and becoming the largest group on MOCpages, the Fellowship of the Brick invites the entire MOCpages community to share in a fantastical undertaking! The objective is for the community to collaboratively produce an impressive archive of 2000 8x8 and/or 16x16 Middle Earth themed vignettes over the next year! Ridiculous? Yes. Unrealistic? Absolutely. But the same was said of Frodo's quest to destroy the Ring, so come and join the fun!
About this creation
The 2000 vig challenge thread.

Here's a contribution to the Fellowship of the Brick's 2000 vignette challenge. It's the scene in which Gandalf visits Minas Tirith and reads the scroll of Isildur. The inspiration behind this was the floor tile technique.

C&CC appreciated!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Quoting Zach Lucia You know, as awesome as that floor is, it is becoming more overdone after every single build. Great job none-the-less! ~Zach
Haha, yeah. I know what you mean. Thank you, though!

Quoting Red Son Looks great! I have never attempted that tile slant. I guess cause lack of bricks :P
Thanks! Yeah... I just got a bunch of the 2x2 tiles from PaB, so that's why I have this many.

Quoting Nathan Pownell The floor is really cool, but this is probably not up to your standard. Good work anyway! :D
Thank you! I agree. Like I said, this was just to try out the floor technique. I rushed on the rest because I've got other things that I would rather work on. Gotta use all of that olive cheese, after all! :P

Quoting Evan Botkin Nice work. You should have added more papers and books though, to make it more cluttered. Still nice vig and the flooring is cool.
Thanks! I would have, but I actually have nothing that'll serve for books or paper. The one book, and that's it.

Quoting Mark McPeek Fantastic work, Kevin! The bookshelf and floor are great! I've seen this flooring technique several times, but I've never bothered to figure out how it's done. How did you do yours?
Thank you! It's done with 2x2 tiles (duh :P) with 1x1 rounds in the center hole on the bottom. You put them on every other stud (at a 45 degree angle) for one row, and for the next row, you put them in the center of four studs. Once you get the first row, it's really easy to figure out where the rest go.
Quoting Mark McPeek again Oh, would you mind adding a comment on the 2000 vigs thread with a link to this? Thanks!
Just did! Thanks for reminding me!

Quoting Noel Peterson I suppose you got the floor technique from "The Brick Show"?
Actually, no. I've never heard of "The Brick Show." I saw the technique on Ian Spacek's (I think it was his) Princess Bride MOC on Beyond the Brick.
