HMS DAUNTLESS
Finally after a couple of years I have built another GAIA vessel. This one's circa 3rd Alien War.
About this creation
At 116 studs long this isn't the largest of my micro's, but I think I scaled this one best to give the illusion of being a bigger craft. Well at least I hope so :)

Long Live GAIA!!!

I am so glad that I am not the only one thinking that battleships were the most appealing war machines in history :)It makes me sad that all nowdays fleets lack them at all ...

Quoting Michal Hennel If I may ask, is the similiarity between your spaceships and WW II marine battleships done of purpose or it is just random thing? Overall, I am always excited to see you making those battleships. Great design, style, work on details. I am glad you are back, I missed your personal style very much. 5/5
I love sci-fi, and I am a Western history nut, (for those that don't know what that means, basically Europe and its offshoots like America, Australia etc) so (post)Dreadnoughts and the like represent almost a pinacle of history/warfare for the West in terms of really getting down and dirty. Battleships were as amazing as they were insane and I find them to be work of art and testament to mankind's ambition, tenacity, and brutality all in one form. That said we now have nuclear submarines with enough firepower to wipe out the solar system, but hey, they just don't look as cool. And that's what art's all about. Inspiration. I'm so glad to hear you find my whacky ships enjoyable to look at. Cheers, until the next time :)

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde I just checked out the H.M.S. Fury again and saw me writing something about 'overcompensation'. Oh well, I should have kept my mouth shut... ;-)

Yasou Tom. School break, squeezed in some build time. Just TOO hard seeing all the great Mocs going up without wanting build one's self. Any chance at breaking out the bricks yourself these days? Thanks as always dude :)

Quoting matt rowntRee I like big boats and I cannot lie! Wicked beast there with perfect colors. Love the shape of the prow, very Starblazery. Awesome!
Cheers Sir Mixalot ;) Matt, yeh man, I think I was very into StarBlazers and G-Force as a youngster. I just couldn't wait to grow up and build blue and red space battleships, lmao...

Quoting Brody Allen Beautifully Done! I love that it looks like it could be a sea going vessel as well.
Yeh I reckon giant space ships if they are going to land on planets, best be able to float so as to displace water in a bay rather than overly disrupt the land/farms etc...

Quoting Mike Johnson But where's the all important Wave-Motion Gun we know and love? Well maybe we can call that battering ram the Draggonne Squisher for jollies instead! Long live GAIA my friend.
Hehe, nah, GAIA use far more heavy duty weaponry than that come the 3rd War mate ;) Full ramming speed ahead! hahaha...

Quoting clayton Marchetti I just finished green hornets black beauty and now I'm trying to do an episode of Batman from the 1966 tv show. I don't know how El Barto and Cyber Frank do it. Can't wait to see what you post next!

Hehe, cool. I'm glad. Maybe I should have just not stated it, lol. I just like to log the lengths on these for stats lovers (including myself ;)) Cheers Nick.

Quoting David Roberts It's been a long time since you launched one of these impressive ships: nice to see that they're back! I love how this morphs, depending on the viewing angle. In the first photo it's got that battleship look and in the secong its a long, fast rocket with red wings. I like details of the bridge and other structures too.
Totally :) YEh, it has such different aspects depending on the angle. I was hoping not to rob it too much in my photography but it seems to have translated ok. Thanks David:)

Quoting Stephan N An interesting variant of a Space Ship. Ship in the truest sense of the word. Well, the shape is really great. The structures are very well done and really reminiscent of a battleship. I did not think the blue and red so well together. A real masterpiece. I hope I can see more of such models.
Thanks Stephan. I was happy with the shape myself, possibly the best one of my bunch. GAIA basically uses two colour schemes, red/blue = Earth Fleet. The more traditional Red/Grey you may like more as used by Exo Fleet. Cheers mate :)

Quoting El Barto ! The bow looks like a weapon all by itself! The wings are a nifty addition, too, with the integrated engines. Ramming speed!!!
Thanks Barto, yeh I wanted to put wings on the Indifference but never quite got to it so I always going to do another ship, this time with wings. I just love the scaling on this one also, not too heavy on top. Yeh, I've been reading up a lot on battleships last few months.

Spot on Marc, I kinda got a three day window and just delved into it. That prow is certainly prominent. Why not have a ram on a crazy spaceship? lol... Cheers as always :)
