MEMO Round 1-'The Breached Wall'
About this creation
Firstly I'll just like to thank 'The BrotherhoodWorkShop', there amazing stop-motion Lego clips are truly brilliant and inspirational. If you haven't seen any of their short animation clips, head over to Youtube to check them out. Here's one from them, in which they made Helms Deep Battle, with a slight twist of course :P Hope you enjoy

This is my entry for the 2014 Middle Earth MocOlympics

As you might have noticed, in this build I contridicted the use to use the actual male characters from the film and changed their gender. The reason for this was because I did a Media Studies Assessment for a Gender Reading and felt that female characters weren't involed as much as male characters. So if you were wondering why 'Aragorn or Legolas' had long hair or a different face thats why. Let me know what you think...

Hoped you enjoyed this MOC, it took me about 5 full days to build and I'm pretty pleased with the overall completion. Please Rate and Comment, it really helps out -Ranger-

Quoting Caleb Walker Great job! This is really detailed! Cool idea but I would have liked it with the real Aragorn and real Legolas. But other than that it is overall a really great build! Good luck!
Thanks Caleb :)

Quoting Kai Bernstein The stonework color patterns may not be too realistic, but man are they attractive! I can always appreciate a new masonry style, and this is certainly one of the better ones. The ground is a bit plain in comparison, though. Overall, great work and good luck!
Thanks Kai :)

Quoting Halhi 141 Beautiful build. Very original styling with the wall texture. In its current state it isn't as effective as the techniques used by Luke Watkins and such, but with some refinement it could look fantastic. Really, my only main critique is the ground, it's too flat and plain in comparison with the wall which transitions between shades so effortlessly. If you could capture that sort of coloring in the ground and have some more interesting texture/elevation, that would be great. Other than that, the decision to build in greyscale is great artistically, but the minifigures destroy that part of the artwork. Also the mood of the moc could be improved with better presentation. Making every photo like the first, for instance, would be amazing...Anyway, this is a truly fantastic build, one of my favorite entries. Good luck.
Thank you Haihi, I'll definatly keep what you said in consideration for my next build

Quoting Professor B. Wonderful job! Like how the wall curves just a little bit. Aragorn's face is... interesting. :P Not so sold on the black though... Anyway, good luck!
Thank's Professor :) The black is the ash from the explosion, that's why I did the black on the walls as well to sort show where the catapults have hit the walls, hope this makes more sense if you didn't get it :)
